Spent the last 3 days on a jQuery scrolling bug that has been in the product for 3 years. It was a 5 line fix.

Got paged at 3am. It's 8am now and I'm going to work. Fuck me.

Spelling and grammar errors in variable names, function names and comments.

Just got back to the Bay Area. Already feeling extra poor.

February. The month where rent is really too damn high.

Just finished a project that was estimated to be 8 weeks long with 2 devs. I was given the project 2 weeks ago with no one else to work with. It's going to a few hundred thousand users tomorrow.

Still underpaid and stressing over rent.

Definitely still not getting that salary adjustment...

Anyone else here ever feel like an insignificant cog in a large machine that's easily replaceable?

I feel like the company has gotten so big that I don't have much say or impact anymore. Everything we do is determined by the dudes at the top.

I asked my manager for a compensation adjustment today since my peers at the same tenure and experience as me were making $30,000 more than me. They said no since I haven't worked on any big projects yet and the projects that were big enough, I didn't do it by myself so they don't count.

I'm not sure if they know how software teams work... I'm pretty sure we make software for TEAMs...
