Where can I find a well paid junior Android Kotlin position?
I've been working in Switzerland for nearly 3 years now. I earned 72,000 (CHF) the first year, 78,000 the second year and now I've reached 86,400 at my current job. I quit this job and with the new job I'll be earning 96,000 after a 3 months trial period in which I'll earn the same as I earn now. I see a lot of Java jobs with Spring Boot and Angular but I'd really like to work with Android and Kotlin, I applied to Element.io and got rejected so I think I might need to apply as a junior Kotlin developer even though I have quite some experience.
I'm not sure where I could look for Kotlin jobs and if it's possible to not deviate too far from my current salary, I'm not sure which country and I'm not sure which platform I could use.
I've tried some stuff on LinkedIn and Indeed and others and I've tried in Switzerland, Israel and the US since I speak English and Hebrew natively and German fluently.
P.s. I know that you're all going to say that the expenses in Switzerland are higher, but I'm very frugal and this doesn't apply to me that much. I still earn a lot more than I would earn in Germany for example and I really don't want to earn 10,000 less...
Here's my CV if you're curious 😉
Thanks for reading up to here and I'll be very glad to get any feedback 🙏
Also I posted this on hacker news and I'd appreciate if you up vote it there so I get some attention 🙈
Sticky notification icon on Xiaomi MIUI 12 Android 11 is soooooo annoying.
I made a video, hope that's also ok:
Installed RAM 48.0 GB
Eclipse, Chrome if you ever show the slightest slowliness I'm deleting you forever!24
Ansible on centos.
Does anyone have any kind of experience with this? For some reason I could install it and now I can't... It says their aren't any mirrors find...2
So I found this really cool website but I have no idea who owns it, any idea how I could find out something like this?
Sometimes I just HATE Google.
No, this is NOT because they keep all your data, are evil and all the usual things. I just think they suck, yes there are super cool things and a lot of things are just the best in the field but I just feel like we could do better, there are so many smart people out there I just do not understand why everything is taking so much time.
PS. Just deleted all my browsing histroy accidentally because I didn't read the small print - in the picture attatched.7
I shaved half my beard off. I just had a meeting with a recruiter and he told me I might get problems with upper management (CEOs for example) in Switzerland because they are still very conservative and they'll be interviewing me. Why would that matter!? Either I get the job done or I don't, why the hell does it make a difference if I like to stick out in a crowd with a unique cool beard!?20
I would like to ask you guys (and girls) for your opinion on finding a job. I made a website chagaifriedlander.cf and I'll post my resume in the comments.
I'm just finishing studying computer science and I'd love program something for Android, but I'm also open for anything else. My favourite place would be Switzerland but I'm open to working anywhere. I would like to work in a team at the beginning because a I need to gain some experience and b I just don't like working alone to much.5
I'm just finishing my bachelor's degree in computer science in Germany. I love programming, especially for Android. I am working on a really cool note-taking app for my bachelor thesis and I love. A few weeks ago I started looking for jobs, I thought this would be easy. Why is this not easy?! Does no company need help with developing an app?!?! I googled jobs and opened the first few pages on the browser then I chose a city in Switzerland because I read that's where developers make the most money. Then I had to write a CV, what the fuck am I supposed to write in the CV?! So I wrote what languages I had dealt with during my studies and I wrote that I now speak German English and Hebrew. I had to upload the CV for EVERY SINGLE COMPANY and sometimes I had to write a cover letter for a companies I don't even know much about. WHY IS THIS SO ANNOYING!!!
I'm the last few weeks I've been getting emails rejecting my application, such a waste of time. I would love to work with people I'm just so bored sitting at home all day without much motivation to program alone, I need company and a company to pay me. I've already wasted a few months and I just can't believe that the market is so terribly organised. I could be getting so much work done, all I need is people who are a little bit motivated! I'm just so frustrated that everything works so slowly in this market...I even tried looking online for people who just want to talk about programming Android apps, NADA I just couldn't find anything... Well that's it if you have a job offer for me just hit me up I'll do anything...tiny.cc/chagai is where you can find my contact information I will literally consider even working in North Korea I just don't care where I work..67
