@matsaki95 now that's what I call iteration!
-
That's pretty offensive eh, we don't all look like that! Russians are all bears on unicycles though.
-
@slaat well the picture I'm trying to paint is that this is something funny that someone would do if they were pissed at a Kickstarter they had backed. Why would they be angry? Well it's common that Kickstarters don't live up to their promises (No Man's Sky being a glaring example of this) or underdeliver.
-
@iam13islucky the UI/UX is strong with this one
-
@slaat I know nothing about this particular Kickstarter, I was just making a joke 😆
-
I don't get it 😅

Guess this is some people's definition of advanced! -
I love this artist :)

@BlueNutterfly
As long as you are in this toxic situation, your motivation, decision making, and mood will be negatively affected.
Please, I honestly believe that doing everything in your power to leave and be self sufficient would allow you to live a real life free of this tyranny -
Well if you try to code something useful every day, is it such a bad thing?
Better than most addictions I'd say.
Try checking out the /r/ProgrammingPrompts subreddit if you're looking for something to code -
I'd rather have donations (like $5+) unlock useful premium features than have them disable ads, and I think it would be more in the spirit of the application and community.
Increasing free & ad-free user -> donating user conversion rate is easier and better for the overall user experience & the community than having new users be bombarded with ads. There's not enough time for them to enjoy and become integrated with the community, ads would increase new user dropoff significantly.
Basically it's easier & better for the community to turn adless free users into donating users than it is to turn ad-viewing free users into ad-free paying users.
Just my 2 cents -
@sirjofri yeah Ctrl+Y is redo for a lot of things like web forms, Google Docs applications, and really all Ofiice-style applications except Photoshop. :(

Sublime text is my favorite. Overall it's a simple and powerful IDE for any language, very intuitive. It also has a huge library of mods that are SUPER easy to install with the package installer, it's free to use (but it will ask you to purchase a license after a trial period which I genuinely plan on purchasing soon I PROMISE) and it's very well made overall. Everything you want in a IDE in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to the day when Ctrl+Z = undo
&&
Ctrl+Shift+Z = redo
Ctrl+Y for redo is so unintuitive :/ -
@OfficerHalf it's very easy to deal with that.
1. Swipe down from the top bar
2. Swipe down on the "Twilight" app
3. Tap "pause"
4. Enable permissions
5. Swipe down from top bar
6. Enable Twilight again
Pretty quick & simple. It's understandable why Android doesn't want screen overlays running while accepting permissions 😅 -
At least you don't have every single item marked as high priority like a lot of places lol
-
I love f.lux! I use Twilight on my phone too which is the same thing

@vhoyer ahahaha good idea but I feel like you'd get some ugly unfitting colours that way

Ctrl+s
"Hello! Thanks for trying out Sublime Text."
Swallow guilt, close popup
"It probably saved right?"
Ctrl+s anyways -

Hey there @bluenutterfly
I read through your post and I just wanted to say I'm really sorry that you are going through all of that. I understand how hard it must be with all of this pressure on you, on top of a desire to be better & rise above the bullshit.
You seem like a very smart and capable person, I think you could do really well if you tried freelancing. Making $1000USD/month is very doable even for a novice developer! I would recommend focusing your efforts on an in-demand language that you find interesting like Java or SQL - or even go for "two birds with one stone" and learn C# so you can get more familiar with unity as you work towards a job. I think if you focus on becoming independent as soon as possible, you much more easily focus on what YOU want to do with your life, not what others tell you to do :)
Good luck, and if you're ever interested in talking about unity development let me know, I just started learning about it! -
