.Net Core workload runs at ~500mb :-)
-
@adracea I see your point! Yet, I still want to challenge you to analyze what your scope of expertise is or should be: You're working security which comes with an inherent need for a very broad knowledge base over many areas and technologies! Where are your boundaries? Stay healthy!! :-)
-
@typodeaf: No! There are many wonderfull companies out there, where a culture of mutual respect and benevolence can be found!
Also: You've worked for 3 years, not even close to a 1/10 of your lives total worktime! Making general assumptions now about the rest pf it is more than premature! Look on the bright side of live! -
When workloads overwhelm me - I like to prioritize in a special way: Identifie what is pressing and what is important. Things that are both pressing and important - do first. Then reevaluate! Have the courage NOT to do something. If your supperiors give you a hard time about it, hand them your importance/urgency list and kick them out! NOTHING is more important than your mental and physical health! Any supperior that thinks othervice has an entitlement complex and you should reevaluate of you want to work for someone like that! And this might help too: http://michaelingold.ch/blogreader/...

Why do people still make databases reachable from the big bad internet?!?
-
@thmnmlst sounds - exhausting! Let me give you some pointers: http://michaelingold.ch/blogreader/...
-
@positivealex no it is not, but why not take Saturday morning off to code? :-)
And also: find people to contribute to your projects - makes it twice the fun, tripple the learning experience and advancing your project could mean to review a PR and merge it! -
@thmnmlst - thanks :-)
-
Happens to me in MS Word all the time something is underlined red :p
-
I always recommend https://youtube.com/watch/... to beginners!
-
I7, 4k, 512gb ssd, 16gb ram, it's my workhorse :-)
-
XPS 15, best notebook I've bought so far!
-
Git for ages four and up : https://youtu.be/1ffBJ4sVUb4 my absolute favourite even after years of usage!
-
Interesting what a quick search for "distributed social network" turns up: https://diasporafoundation.org
-
How exactly did you think, sitting on your ass and waiting for him to deliver for months on end would turn out?!?
-
@panzer-ragu That is indeed the case if you run 1, 2, 3 or 10 machines, but start running 500+ machines and 1000+ service instances; A GC pause difference of 10ms can save you thousands of dollers!
-
i'd give you a +1, had I not seen so many "devil-may-care" managed programmer screw the underlaying optimizations (for example processor cache layers etc.) by ignoring principles like immutable data etc...
-
@killermenpl then there should be a way of provoking this timeout sooner!
-
writing code is one of the best things I've done in my life - paid or unpaid!
