@heyheni i go in at Five in the Morning on 1-2 days in the week and work until like 16:00-17:00 so fridays can be very relaxed.
-
I missed one letter :(
-
@EmberQuill you do you and stuff - my internet and page load times don’t annoy me.
-
Just don’t visit that site anymore - I have stopped using certain websites. If there are ads that autoplay I’m out.
I refuse to use an adblocker, because I have enough external dependencies in my browser as is and I do think content creators are entitled to earn a few bucks. -
@netikras hidden files could be an issue aswell as just having to use a different compiler. Path issues might be at fault aswell - Windows is a bit iffy with this.
-
@Fast-Nop i Know that’s why there is a big couch there to suck up a lot of bass - I also want to try to build triangle shaped panels to put into the corners - each one slightly different of course - and Test if that could help aswell.
Sound is a Great thing to play with :D -
@M1sf3t yassss i Love Fanta exotic, pomelo and cassis - funnily enough these don’t do well on the German market :D
-
@Fast-Nop i have a Couch behind my desk as a Basstrap and a few acoustic panels - works like a charm
-
@M1sf3t the amp - Benelux and Germany doesn’t get orange crush :D
I don’t even play guitar or bass that much anymore - I push a lot of synth stuff though it tho :D -
I love my orange crush <3

@-ANGRY-CLIENT- Vitamin B wie Beziehung halt :s
-
@rant1ng what law? We owe the domain and just reroute it to a server we own.

It’s fine - I’m not fond of static function but I’ve seen far worse. Maybe be a bit more specific in the docblock
-
@import-fun tell them to please be considerate and to chat random stuff in your break room or just somewhere else. They are humans and I bet you speak the same language.
I don’t want to be rude, I get that it’s annoying. They however aren’t aware of it, if you don’t tell them that it’s hindering your work. -
@import-fun well it’s your employers decision and stuff. You could also ask him to provide a quiet working environment.
I wouldn’t work at a place like that as I just love to listen all my music during work. -
I have seen this before. Mate of mine wasn’t allowed to wear headphones because he shouldn’t overhear his phone or somebody asking him stuff.
-
You don’t Hand out Code before being paid.
Run your code on your machines and if the opposite party wants to have it make them pay your bill and then hand over your code and stuff. -
@CaptainRant we also just have the ones people brought in from home because they don’t need em anymore. Like I like those horizontal ones - got like 6 of em to hang my clothes
-
Huh, I take off my wet boots at work. Deffo not a start up.
-
Go buy coffee somewhere else. also be wary of your boss, he seems to be quite the knobhead.
-
@irene well yeah - I also try to make trips by car as meaningful as possible so going to work, gym and grocerieshopping or something similar. Hopefully that makes up for me hooning around the Nürburgring or backroads from time to time :D
I’d love to be able to afford a new electric vehicle or at least a new hybrid. I am just totally not fond of Tesla or the cheaper options like a Chevy bolt, Opel Ampera, Nissan Leaf or stuff like that. -
@irene I live in a very rural area - the bus comes once every hour and it costs 230€ a month to use it to get to work. This trip also takes me 1,5h for 7,5km. Public transport is a sad joke in my area - there is an old trainstation that could be reactivated for a few ten thousand € but the two railway companies (Belgian and German one) can’t agree on anything so that will never happen. So I need a car.
My girlfriend and I just go to work by car and carpool together. She drops me off at work and drives into the city to her work. Either I carpool after work to the city or hop in a bus and go to the gym. Should the weather allow it I’ll walk the 7,5km home.
I love cars and Motorsports - I own 3 cars but I only drive them when I feel like it. It’s a hobby. My girlfriend has our main car that we daily. We are very bummed out about the sorry state of public transit around us :D we wish it was like in London or something like that -
I just told my relatives that if I fix their stuff it costs them money per hour. Should they ask how much, I tell them an industry standard hourly rate and they’ll shut up about their outdated computers.
I do help when I see them really struggle I.e. my grandmother having some trouble with logging in on social stuffs and showing her how to use keychain and stuff.
You really just need to communicate clearly that your computer is off limits and you’re there to enjoy a meal and some family time. I used to take a laptop with me and I just turned off, when it got more crowded.
With spoilers - always watch a classic that’s rewatchable with people like that. Home alone, die hard, that tim allen Christmas movie, the grinch or something like that. I have some young relatives and when it’s that time of year I just put on a classic and proceed to have a drink with my uncles. -
I feel your pain condor - I didn’t want a card from bpost after I found this out. My sister has a card and forgot her password and it came through the mail and I was shook.
This isn’t a Belgian thing either - my German bank of choice has online banking and the password can only be 5 characters long. Another really fishy thing is that if you give a longer password it doesn’t error out. A colleague did a longer password for years and tried just the first five chars - it worked. I don’t know if they hash those passwords somehow, but oh boy it feels insecure. I am very glad that I don’t have any form of 2FA set up with my phone. If I have to do a bank transfer I have to go to the bank and do it there. It’s annoying but is secure. -
IT infrastructure is a joke in Germany. I can go into the woods somewhere in Poland or be on the beach in Belgium or in any part of the Netherlands and have constant LTE4G extravaganza - I’m at the Düsseldorf Trainstation and have no reception at all.
Wired connections are a sad sad joke in itself and the government hasn’t gotten the joke for the last 20 years or so. Instead we get shit about „flugtaxis“ - german people will get this one.
I work at a great German company that really wants to push the edge and be very modern. We suffer from our bad connection at times and it’s also hecka expensive. This is also true for private connections.
I also really hate the clingyness to cash. In Berlin you really have to check every bar, club or restaurant you go to as a lot don’t even take debit cards. It’s a sad sad joke.
Gotta cut Berlin protest against google some slack tho. They wanted to build in Kreuzberg - gentrification is a big big issue there. -

These guys earn by creating contracts/leads - the few HR companies that don’t do this are hecka expensive for the employers, so you won’t stumble on those very often.
