They didn't have the time.. It's a long ride.. other cars use the same road. It makes sense that some parts were taken by people or were run over.. or will be impossible to find.

Winapi is awesome. You just gotta get used to it. Msdn is by far the the best documentation I've ever read.

Opening a window in straight winapi/c should be only for learning how things work under the hood. There are enough libraries that wrap that shit up.

And the turbo c thing is a big wtf. Why not visual studio?

Write basic c code. Set compiler to not optimize code. Compile it and debug it with inline asm instructions. You will see how c translates to asm.
And you can learn how loops are implemented, function prologue, epilouge and how stack management works.
