The new MacBook Pro's front is NOT metal. It's made out of some plastic despite looking like brush metal.
I learnt this the hard way when i accidentally ran my keys across it and gave it a nasty scratch.
Every time i see it, i feel an irritable itch that i can't scratch.
Luckily, i have the perfect bandage.24 -
Ubuntu mono font is such a delight to use as a code font.
Changed all my IDE / Atom / Notepad++ fonts to use that as default now. :-)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH Just discovered Emmet in Atom editor.
Oh god why am I so late to the party. Already I easily saved easily half of my HTML coding time.
Anyone who does any HTML work should definitely check it out.
Don't take my word for it, just look at this beauty.

Someone here recommended me vue.js as an alternative to React and Angular.
Sorry I can't remember who you are, but thanks.
Vue.js is indeed awesome!6 -
Someone messed up big time at Blizzard. This is the second accident for the new Hearthstone expansion launch...
-
Is it strange that I'm getting more constructive advice from the Devrant community than the co-workers around me?
No lie, I discovered gistboxapp, vue.js, hacker noon and a bunch of other cool stuff through here.4 -
Stop reading and JUST start writing code.
I've been stuck in coding limbo because I kept looking for the right answer.
And I've learnt over time that the right answer will come to you only when you know what exactly you're looking for.
So start coding.10 -
After years of my own dodgy javascript codes, I've started to throw away everything I know about javascript and learn it from scratch.
Learning that functions are objects really helped in restructuring a pile of my code. Eg passing it as a parameter to be executed.
Suddenly callback functions make a lot of sense now, and I've got a new found respect for the language. -
Tried to install Ubuntu on a Virtualbox. Wasted so much time and effort just to get it running.
Got so fed up, ended up getting a hosted one at Digital Ocean.8 -
The Raspberry Pi is the most fun toy I've bought in ages. And this is coming from a guy who has 700+ games in his steam library, with dozens of midi equipment lying around.7

Unit tests fail.
Re-ran it again without looking at details.
Unit tests pass now.
What. Why?!
Now I can't sleep at night.6 -
Started a new Factorio run.
Started implementing logic gates in it.
Started to think if I was half as OCD and productive in my code, I'd be an awesome developer.
Started to cry.
(for those of you who never heard of it, Factorio is the best building sim game ever)3 -
Started a new project for .NET core. Spent the last 2 hours creating a new solution and trying to "make a great solution structure this time"...
Ended up with the same project structure of my previous projects.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it I suppose. -
Migrate a site to a new web CMS... by rendering all current pages as static html files and copying it to a new server.
(true story) -
See another of this git commit message :
"Fixed bugs and added new feature"
Fixed what bug?! Added new feature what?!4 -
The table is not a fking drum, and you're not fking Roger Taylor, so stop tapping your fking pen on it.
No, you don't have rhythm, stop that goddamn racket when I'm trying to debug dammit.12
