does the GET hit a cache? POST requests aren't usually cached, perhaps thats the difference in result.

Agreed. Solving the hard stuff first may influence all the stuff around it. And helps you get a clearer overview of what still needs to be done.

initially getting into the focus zone took longer at the office than before the WFH period. Getting used to ignoring the louder colleagues is getting easier over time.

the earlier you are included in the project while it's still in the "powerpoint" phase, the easier it is to steer clear of potential icebergs down the line.

I've had some succes with the Six Thinking Hats method, once everyone gets over the silly hat metaphor it worked quite well.
Provided you have people who can flow with the current hat colour. -

if you're getting crowded, try to only direct your answer to the same manager every time, no matter who originally asked.
