@RememberMe @Fast-Nop I agree, I'm not sure if it even is anything but a joke. The website looks a little like it but it is still an interesting idea, I wouldn't use it but some diehard C users would probably have some fun with it
-
@RememberMe First of all I need to clarify that I am very sceptical of the idea as well, but I thought it would be interesting enough to be worth sharing.
Thr OpenBSD security I was speaking of is nit limited to the kernel, it also has some modifications to clang which make using C on OpenBSD generally safer than on other platforms. Examples are the removal of outdated functions known to be vulnerable to overflows or the great pledge() which is pretty neat if you ask me. -
@RememberMe I think the main reason to use BCHS is not necessarily speed, one could probably achieve comparable computation speed with golang for example, but security. OpenBSD has a bunch of interesting security features and minimal software is generally said to be more secure. But although C can be very secure, it can obviously also be very insecure, especially if someone doesn't exactly know what they're doing.

@linuxxx Weird, that person just copied my reply and added a sentence to it. Looks like you tried to answer a spam bot maybe?
-
@PlatinumFire Thank you, I just signed up at HackTheBox to check it out
-
@cho-uc LiveOverflow is a really good channel for this kind of thing. He also has a video talking about why CTFs are great for getting into security
-
Anyone still got the link that was posted here some years ago where you could customize your avatar using url parameters?
-
@Jilano I hope so, thanks for some motivation!
-
@Lor-inc Awesome! I have never developed a game so I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes but I always appreciate it if people use foss in their projects instead of the bloat that e.g. unity is.
I am extremely excited for your game, I don't even play video games but this sounds fun and I'll try it once you publish it. Good luck and have fun! -
@-ANGRY-STUDENT- I don't know actually I just noticed that it started earlier today and originally thought it was over already.
I'm not that experienced tho so it takes me a lot of time to get the challenges solved -
I know I'm a little late to the party... but I love the idea! Have you got a link to a repo or anything?
-
@fishfork I also want to use reddit hardly, it is a really bad habit of mine. So don't even get started.
But r/lodeddiper is essentially diary of a wimpy kid memes
Oh and fuck Manny that little asshole, may his soul burn in hell lol -
@fishfork Do you know the lodeddiper subreddit?
-
@Condor I am relatively new to manjaro and I must say I am thinking about going to a Debian based distro. My problem is that I very often do not find a program in the official repos that can be found in the Debian repos. I have never heard about this by someone else so maybe I am just doing something wrong but it really bothers me.
Is there anything about Debian that you really don't like? -
Arch users would never do this. OP uses Arch btw (iirc)
-
@netikras You are using a fucking google link as a source? The top link on google just says that he used to have a mattress in his office, nothing wrong about that. So stop spreading fake news about real people. Things like this can cause suicide so please just shut up if you have no idea if what you are talking about is wrong or right.
-
@JustThat Also that dude holding the model sign above her lmao
-
I know I am pretty late to the party but let me make some points clear.
Everything that rms said is that sex is okay if everyone involved consents. That's not bad, is it?
What the "journalists" (e.g. vice) on the other hand wrote is that he is a pedophile etc. See the difference?
What is also important to know is that someone published an email of his from a private mailing list without asking the members first and nobody tries to find out how this person is. Sounds shady, right?
Stallman meanwhile gets defended by famous feminists and tons of people who have actually read about what happened. So please guys stop acting as if he wasn't a incredibly admirable and inspiring programmer anymore. -
@netikras Having a mattress to sleep on after work is okay and that's everything he's done with it. Where is that bullshit from?
-
Looks nice. Would you mind telling is a bit more about it?
-
@jak645 Wait green plant makes you actually productive? I am just getting super chilled but I couldn't imagine working
-
@alexbrooklyn This reminds me of polyphasic sleep. Has anyone here tried that?
-
@Haxk20 This is literally the argument I always bring up around my friends lol. For my part it is even easier as I neither game nor can I afford adobe software
-
@Haxk20 I can confirm that. Running manjaro on a cheap SSD on shitty old hardware and updates run entire worlds faster than on windows on the same machine. But to each their own I guess
-
This is just calling for everyone to recommend Linux, so where are you "BTW I use arch" people?
-
Another thought: I could read the Python source code, which is in C which would probably give me a better understanding of both languages🤔
But I guess that's even more complicated than git. -
@Stuxnet Oh thanks a lot. I guess I should use GUIs more again so I find stuff more intuitive lol
-
Isn't there like a O'Reilly book about cooking?
-
I am also growing chilies! I love making the best chilli sauce and spice at the end of every year knowing that they are completely grown at my home.
-
@Ximidar Thanks, this sounds so awesome. I can't wait until I go to college ;)
