@electrineer yes it has hdmi and i know what a dongle is but there are enough cables on(and behind) my desk already and the resolutions don't match up anyway so for me its not worth it.
I got the duck from a classmate some years ago, i don't really know but it has eyes so i assume its some kind of diving/sun glasses -
Light themed directory tree and dark themed code? Im disturbed😕
-
Never been drunk aswell😃
-
Its time for a change in ~/.bash_profile:
alias dick=git -
@sonofwind
I bet it's written in brainfuck 😁 -
I don't actually use windows except for gaming but i'm curious. Is there really no way do disable automatic updates?
-
Because AI is sexy😏
-
Wow a linux vs windows question and no zealot bullshit?😍 I love this platform
-
Who else is annoyed by caps lock?
-
My school computer's sudo allows executing some graphical tools as root without password. And yes they have open- and save-file-dialogs😁
-
@cbsa
You are deviding by zero by canceling out zero. Thats undefined not 1. And it's EVIL!!!😁 -
@cbsa
10(10-10) is 0 not 10
Same with (10-10)(10+10): it is 0 -
I knew that windows's software management is crap but I wouldn't have expected it to leave the system in a broken state😱
Never had a single issue(exept for my own stupidity) related to my database (mariaDB) on linux. It runs smoth as butter even though its a huge mythtv installation serving terrabytes of data to my family and frends and runing on a old low-end machine with 2 cores and 4gigs ram. Oh and its a http(s), ts and file(owncloud+sftp) server too :D -
@darkmiko
Nah.. waifu is easier to setup and configure but by far not as powerful as life/wife
I'll continue trying to get it working.
$ cd wife
$ ./configure
Checking wether build environment is sane...
Missing dependency: life
$ cd ../life
$ ./configure
Target linux/x86_64 is not supported.
😭 -
@krz1
^^
Just to be sure:
# sudo su root -c sudo bash -c "sudo apt-get install wife life" -
@krz1
The '#' was ment to indicate that I am root🙂 -
My portable universal computer supports wireless local area networking with multi-user multiple-input multiple-output technoglogy.
It also supports SuperSpeed+ over universal serial bus.
Damm isn't that fancy?😁 -
# apt-get install life wife
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package wife
E: Unable to locate package life

wobbly windows❤️

@zickig
I made quite the oppisite experience: after installing linux on my machine everything was working out of the box. After I did a fresh windows install It had no driver for my network card -
@stop
I wouldn't use something human readable. Its supposed to be interpreted by a browser/rendering engine not by humans. For debuging it could be represented graphically or parsed to xml or whatever
Ps assuming you're talking about html, svg or simmilar. Of cause there are good applications for xml, json, etc like config files -
I'd like to see js dead too but I think it would be replaced with something similar or worse pretty soon and there are good reasons for client site scripts eg live chats.
@Alice
I feel the same way. I'm not a webdev or similar but I've seen a f@#€ing nanvigation menu in flash I hate this kind of junk -.-
I think the web how it is now is inherently flawed. HTML wasn't ment for apps it was ment for pretty pages. PAGES not APPS. I think webapps are nothing else than crutches for the problems in the native world.
The best solution in my oppinion would be to build OSes to be able to relaiably confine native code and then let the browser download binaries and execute them in a confined context. I know, its not gonna happen any time soon but thats the world I dream of.
Btw I also don't like that the web is based on textual formats. Why not use binary data structures instead of html? Its faster and smaller. Same with svg. I love the idea of vector images but god please not in xml. -
One of the reasons I prefer tabs😊
-
Wow... that sounds horrible
I'm in germany and 9 month ago I switched school to do whats called "Abitur"(witch is a generic graduation required to study at university) in combination with a "Berufsabschluss" as computer sience assistant. We already learned about logic gates how a simple binary adder and subtractor works, how bubble sort works, what a class is and how it is written but not really writing our own code(in java), how to read and solder circuit diagrams and a bit about network topology. One of my frends does something similar: "Fachabitur". He started just one year earlier then me and already lerned how ip packets are structured about dhcp and they build little networks in VMs and cofigure dhcp, routing and so on.
I always tought the US are way ahead of germany when it comes to technology😅 -
@host127001
I'd prefer Hex l. It's shorter -
I wouldn't want to enforce a universal datetime format because there can be many different requirements in different scenarios that cannot be satisfied in one single format.
For example:
-has to be short
-has to include the timezone
-has to include day of week
-has to account for hours that exist twice because of daylight saving time
-has to satisfy regional conventions
-has to be sortable
-has to include the name of the month
And so on -
@c3ypt1c
Either you misunderstood me or you have a really strange definition of "big fuss". I'm not trying to be hostile I just hate these kind of practices and want to express my opinion about them :) -
@c3ypt1c
Obs is plug 'n play and the conversion to gif can be easily done with the top google search result of "flv to gif".
Everyone on devRant should know how to use google.
In the end it doesn't really matter but seeing this kind of stuff especially on devRant is driving me nuts -
@c3ypt1c
Are you kidding me? Doing so takes litteraly less then 5 minutes -
@harshmandalgi
Its ugly af and using a screen recorder isn't that hard
