Nice one!
My version: On a plane during boarding, remoting in to a PC from my phone, fixing a database issue. Got it sorted just before takeoff :D -
I'm another who paid for Sublime. Worth every penny :)
-
@epse I'd had my laptop for over a year before realising that the eSATA gave me a fourth USB port!

Semi-relevant, and I love an excuse to link to bash.org -
There is also https://24ways.org
"24 ways is the advent calendar for web geeks. For twenty-four days each December we publish a daily dose of web design and development goodness to bring you all a little Christmas cheer."
And for those who want to give instead of receive, there's https://24pullrequests.com
"The idea is basically 'Send 24 pull requests between December 1st and December 24th', encouraging developers to give back to open source with little gifts of code throughout December." -
Chrome has its own task manager, so you can see exactly which processes are running. They're probably extensions, and maybe sandboxes for things like Flash.

My comment may have been a little harsh, so I apologise, but I stand by the sentiment. Your post read as more of a boast than a rant ("...fix in less time than estimated. Look like gold"), and I think it needed the extra context.
I have been in situations where my estimates were ignored, or budgets had already been agreed before the devs were consulted (thankfully it's never been as bad as you described). So I do understand, but I still don't agree with the method. -
Giving reasonable and consistent estimates is hard enough, and that kind of selfish nonsense gives us all a bad name.
I hope I'll never have to work with you. -

There you go :)

What would you prefer they end with?
-
@src-tz it's possible that the in-app /data updates are toggling a switch to activate existing code. It's still not good if they don't include it in the changelog, though (which never changes...).

@SweetHuman that's not the one I saw, so there must be a few out there :P
-
@always-noob123 I really hope so :)
-
I remember seeing that. I can't remember the app, though :(
-
Throw emoji at it and see what happens. That's how I usually break things. 😈
-
I check the permissions of every app I install or update. The information is there, security is important, and it's foolish to ignore it and hope for the best.

What's the problem? Stack Exchange has several non-computing networks, so what's wrong with one for parenting? http://stackexchange.com/sites

I've only worked in an open office, but I'd prefer to try either a private office per dev, or an office per team like @lig1 suggested.

@qwerty1337 The first time I got the ":)" tab counter, I didn't know whether to feel proud or ashamed.
Plus, Chrome on Android doesn't have a "Bookmark all tabs" feature. 😥 -
+1 on using Yoda conditions.

I also use Hack for my IDEs and text editors. It's good for differentiating things like "O" and "0", and "I", "l", "1", and "|". Plus, it's free and on Github.
There are several similar fonts with the same ideals, though. -

@Jumpshot44 Thanks, I figured it was about time I joined :).
For Valentine's one year I received a knitted human heart. She's the best :D
