"Hating udemy's advertising is where it's at, you know, you should do the advertising course on udemy!"
Seriously. I mean are they so oblivious that people hate them? or is the point to stir this controversy up? Or is perhaps these ads are attractive to their favorite kinds of customers?
Whatever the case is, I just wish they would change to any other format. I would rather see an "as seen on tv" style with people trying to code until they learn about udemy and everything is better. -
Those look pretty small to be an 8-track. Is this a new technology? I must be too too old...

@Hedgepig god bless Ainsley Harriot for showing me the proper method for "given my meat a good ol' rubbadub". Heh heh boi..

I used keepass for a while(mainly because it's on ninite), then switched to eWallet for my most recent job. Despite my title, I don't think I've ever used lastpass, it just seemed like the most ubiquitous password manager. The UI feels dated on eWallet but I liked the idea of keeping my passwords isolated to one .wlt file and it's cross platform.

Couldn't this data also represent that the community is made up of mostly devs who have to use SQL? Is Ruby actually less ranted about, or are there just less Ruby devs who are on devrant? 🤔

Also worth noting on the site how even though they use terms like "by devs, for devs" and phrases of that nature, they still talk about how their product is enabling "less experienced" developers to create bots. I'm really new as a "developer" but I've noticed a spectrum of skill levels that exists beyond the semantics of what a developer actually is or does. I think on one side of the spectrum you have people who do very light coding occasional modifications, and on the other side you've got people who're extremely good in their specific field. I think it's clear that this tool is trying to cater to the former of the two spectrums. Now, if you want to go into the whole "who is and isn't a developer" conversation, that's a completely different can of worms.
Great topic glad you posted and sorry for taking a while to respond. -
@varundey maybe the person who has the power to say "yes" to this tool isn't a dev. Maybe they were trying to target some executive with the purchasing power to sign up and let the dev team take it from there.

To filter in the right customers.

I love that box-shadow effect! It just really captures so much depth, I feel pulled in. You gotta share this on codepen.

This has been the story of my life living in alaska. GCI can eat a dick. On a great day I'm pulling 10Mbps, most days aren't great though.

Literally dealt with this yesterday. The company doesn't have credentials to login to administration for email accounts which is a problem for so many reasons.
-
@skonteam that blows hard.

@joetj It's my only state when I work in that program. You're either not using illustrator or you're balls deep in illustrator. (This conversation is making Bob Ross uncomfy)

@searchy2 Oh it's on now. But it sure wasn't on when I needed it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one, but I do want to see if there are discussions going on with people who have found a way to go beyond googling everything.

@IceCoolTea this is the worst thing to discover after your new (gpu, heatsink, ram) comes in. I was in a similar situation only with corsair vengeance ram and I ended up having to lose a fan on one side of the heat sink.

@alandemaria I did that same operation to a customer's Macbook Pro, and it was definitely worth it for them. Unless you are in a position to get a new Macbook really soon I would do it. There are plenty of people who will be looking for a cheap Mac with an SSD on eBay and you'll be sure to sell it whenever you do make the jump.

Better yet: go to Amazon.com and inspect element, change the price to 20 dollars, print the page, head to Walmart and collect Playstation on price match discount. Tell people you hacked into amazon and performed the price change. #hackrlyfe420

Zipties suck shit. Even if the wires are staying put for 20+ years, there is always a possibility that something will need to be changed. Top OU especially sucks to cut zip ties unless you're supremely swoll in your upper body...

@Letmecode thanks! ultimately I'm trying to wrap my head around what programming really is. I've felt discouraged because its hard to look at the same thing all day and not have answers. I feel stupid. I was never in a programming class of any sort so everything I know is from the Internet and my own research. It seems like programming makes anyone an idiot because it revolves around finding answers to questions that make them selves known only when you search for a bigger solution. I think I really just need to find people to talk to who actively overcome the struggles that accompany programing every day. Seems like Devrant might be a good place to start. Thanks again
