The higher one is, the less in touch one seems to be and tend to be more preachy and such.
Had an "architect" ask me what is that "tail" command I did when I showed him application logs. -
Is part-time remote dev work a thing? I wanna go that route but no clue where to get started. Freelancing? Consulting? Or do companies actually hire part time remote devs?7

I'm more partial to Sublime Text. Never got into the Atom craze, and always wanted to be more vim-ish.
But more and more people seem to be into VScode for some reason. Need to check that out soon.1 -
WSL in Windows 10 to get Linux stuff. Crostini (a lightweight ChromeOS container tailored for Linux) running in ChromeOS to get Linux stuff.

I don't think that we should "like" or "hate" a company. Because a company is just another construct. Companies (unless specified as non-profit) exist to make money and as such, do not care about human tendencies like compassion or ethics, and certainly does not care if you like or hate it.
If a product is good and is of benefit to me, then I will use it regardless of which company makes it.
Of course, in today's climate, finding "benefit" is really hard. Example: Google's product and services are great, but I'm giving away my data to what is essentially an advertising company.4 -
