I’m in the same position at the moment. The joy of coding has left the building. It seems that the PM or company watch to many YouTube videos before a meeting and think it’s the best tech because an influencer said so! And then there’s me in the meeting trying to explain how much complexity that this will bring and we need to keep it simple only to be told that they’ll be adding more features with new tech and i need to learn x framework.

Had a project I was working on and for two days straight could not for the life of me figure out why it was throwing an error. Nothing made sense. Turned out to be a rogue comma which was hiding so well in the code it was hard to see. So, f’ing annoying I didn’t spot it. Changed the line height and letter spacing after that.

Yep. No joke, I’m a farmer. Work first thing in the morning then work on dev stuff then farm in the evening.

Take a look at laracasts. Theres some great tutorials from the people who built laravel there. There’s also a tutorial series called “Laravel from scratch” which goes from zero to hero and will get you going.

Used ProtonMail for a bit. Really good security. Forgot my password and can’t get back in.

@Vanegas9090 ye quite likely the trackpad more. Although the mouse is pretty good when you know all the shortcuts.

Quite like the synology. Got the ds916 and Ds215 and work well. Has a really nice user interface.

If people and companies are rewriting the term black/slave/master, then what’s going to be the next terms that replace them and how long before that becomes racist.

They didn’t want google to find the ad online! Haha

I think I’d just skip the coffee and down the cream 😂

I started to shave my hair off after the last project. It hides the bald patch well lmao.

Ye still use tailwind for front end as well. I’m not too good with JavaScript and hat e one page applications but laravel bundled with vue are pretty good and there’s loads of videos if you go over to laracasts.

I’ve been using all sorts from bootstrap, bulma and tailwind. I quite like tailwind at the moment, takes a bit of getting used to but it’s nice when you get the hang of it. But generally build stuff myself rather than using themes as they are pretty bloated.

@Scade hahaha depends on the readers mind

What goes in work stays in work. I try to keep it away from home. Sometimes I’ll have a chat about it if it’s bothering me enough, but that doesn’t happen much.

yep! had it last year when discussing a project with a client and how I think it should be structured. Was on conference call last night with them for the next phase of the project and they were discussing about redoing the app to the exact same structure I'd suggested last year, as if it was their idea.
So I decided to sent the screen recording of the prototype app from last year that I done to show the concept and they finally got it! Only taken 8months -
I got something similar with current customer. They kept sending over small updates and tweaks to do right away but then ask why the main feature was taking so long.
