I thought iOS came with screen time? Or does that require GPS?
-
@PonySlaystation my way to remember it is similar:
- of: for every element "of" the array
- in: for every number "in" the "in"dices
Edit: though I think of it as an array the mnemonic usually works for everything. -
Oh man I never really consider that you have to go down to that precision. But yeah when I think about it...there really are people who spend their days worrying about quarter pixels. Gotta agree with you on this one
-
Yeah, not just zero work, but zero changes in life before you have a contract on salary. I get that it might seem really interesting and all, but don't drop what you have now until you see and agree to a salary and contract.
That said, if you agree with the contract (salary, working conditions, freedoms, etc), and if the job seems interesting enough to balance out the loss of freedom/benefits you get from freelancing, go for it man!
Edit: in the end, nobody can make that decision for you, other than yourself. Go with what feels better for you. The network and other things you've built up while freelancing won't go away. -
Useful wall sign
-
Well in any case, at least it seems like you've got a manager who's down to earth lol
-
How does [technology] work? Who cares, when it's a scalable, distributed, secure, enterprise-level, robust, highly available, batteries-included, blockchain-based platform powered by deep learning and neural network algorithms that allows businesses around the globe to make the world a better place!
-
Lo-fi is great, really nice for working too. For me it's like downtempo trip hop.
Trip hop is basically hip hop that's mostly instrumental and focuses more on electronic elements. -
@Floydian I second the second one
-
@Stuxnet @WIPocket Yeah, when a discussion like this comes up people always give esoteric languages as examples. But that's what they are, esoteric. You could give Malbolge as an example too but it was literally designed to be as difficult to program in as possible. They're not actually meant to be used.
-
@ruhe it'll return something eventually, but that'll be a stack overflow
-
@They tfw I see “They mentioned you in a comment” haha
Yeah a lot of the time companies even provide training for the job. If you already have an offer that you like, just go for it. Practical job experience is more valuable in the long run. -
For me it's a personal thing. I just don't like writing it lol.
-
Is the job something that you would like doing? Then go for it.
Companies don't care that much about a 2:2 vs a 2:1. Even when you look for another job in the future, they prefer people with practical experience over people with high university grades. -
Just use the little wifi icon in the status bar of your phone /s
-
@ruhe That would be too obvious, they needed the assignment to trick me into believing that the function does something 😀
-
Actually a thing if you write C and don’t take care of memory allocation/access.
-
@jallman112 Haha well I’d say that’s more fitting
-
This happens to me more often than I’d like to admit.
I think of “&&” but I type “||”. -
Waiting for someone to do a DEVRANT in the contribution graph.
-
I'm so happy I've never seen anyone do that. That person probably wouldn't exist anymore. If I ever saw a comment inside a conditional I'd flip my shit
-
Made me think...what if the print statement was a literal print statement?
-
@hack Yes. If you're offering something for free, I'll take it for free, and if I like it I'll give you some money for you to continue working on it. I don't see anything wrong with that.
@growling I get that. Honestly, often it's not the creator's fault. The advertisers make requests about the number of ads that they have to show, in what way, etc.
Just to be clear, I don't hate advertisements per se, but I hate the way they're displayed -- that's what really annoys me, and that's why I block them on most sites, except for those that have unobtrusive ads. I don't want to see e.g. unskippable video ads, popup windows, and gifs/autoplaying videos in the margins of the page. And I'm pissed because now I don't get a choice, other than leaving the page entirely. -
@GMR516 That's why I immediately hit the back button. Kinda hard though when every other website uses this script now.
-
@growling I figured someone would say that. My reply is, if I think it's worth my money or if I use it a lot, I will donate at some point. If it's a company like Facebook, they really don't need that advertising revenue. If it's an individual or a small company, and I like what they do, I'll either buy whatever they're offering (a product/service) or I'll donate via PayPal/whatever.
Yes, software ain't free. That's why a lot of software is paid. There are other methods of monetisation than flooding users with ads. -

What fuuuck why. Why does everyone feel the need to write apps in JS.
-
Agree with @amahlaka . Have all the drinks you want, you deserve it.

Then there's the other eternal battle.
- "You're too stressed and tired, you should sleep more."
- "You've slept till 1 PM, you're being useless and wasting your life. You should work more." -
Tbh, that’s exactly the way it should be. I’m proud of this community.
