This is how it works in my company:
-> Spend entire day in meetings - don’t get anything done.
-> Start working at 6pm if you want to get anything done.

Those who have gotten promotions are the ones that have bought into this system.
I guess I won’t be getting a promotion any time soon

Meeting all day then expected voluntary overtime to meet deadlines.

    Sounds familiar.

Tons of meetings, and now additional twice-weekly HR digital paperwork, too, so they can track everything you do and say about what you did, and how you said you felt about each week. … you know, in addition to daily standups, weekly summaries, weekly 1:1’s, monthly 1:1’s with execs, and quarterly “best-self” performance reviews.

And monthly mandatory HR trainings. And security trainings. And fintech UDAAP / Dodd-Frank trainings. And all-hands meetings.

Work? That’s decidedly less important than all of this, unless it isn’t getting done of course.

@Root sounds very familiar. those pesky compliances and standards that’s annoying the entire staff but provides a slight advantage to sales 🤣

"Spend entire day in meetings - don’t get anything done."

You can practice your origami folding.

Make a giant hand out of paper, tell them to continue using it to jerk themselves off with because you're not doing it anymore, and walk out to go get some actual work done.
