This coming Sunday (Feb 4), at about 12AM EST, devRant will be going down for scheduled maintenance (database server maintenance). The maintenance shouldn’t take more than about 15 minutes.

@JoshBent unfortunately not yet - the need to replace all of our servers has put us a little behind.

@dfox thats actually exciting - what are you exactly changing? from vps to dedicated or changing away from digitalocean?

@JoshBent still on DigitalOcean, but they doubled all their plans. They were still doing Spectre patches and restarts, so instead of dealing with that and upgrading our existing instances, we decided to reprovision all of our servers to upgrade to the double config for the same price with all new instances.

I might just be imagining it, but thanks to the double RAM on the DB servers now I think the app feels quite a little faster :)

@dfox the notifications do load twice as fast for me!

@JoshBent awesome! Probably a combination of the new 32gb of RAM instances and also I upgraded to Neo4j 3.3 at the same time and a lot of queries are supposed to be faster now.

For context, on our old 16gb instances, less than half of the DB was able to fit into Neo4j page cache. Now almost all of it fits.
