The beginning portion sounded a bit like 'Zanzarah'.
!sure about the tech, though. Perhaps it's in there, too, but I haven't played the game in so long, so I can't remember. -
@D-4got10-01 so in conspiracy circles some aliens come from alternate dimensions. The rumor is Crowly (satanist of some sort) made contact with interdimensional beings, the grey aliens. I have never seen this used in a video game setting. At least one that I have played. I would obviously change the story, but I think this could cover the tech side. The lore is so rich it could be a game on its own.

Have you looked at Numenera? It's a TTRPG where magic is based on the previous civilisation technology.
-
@Demolishun W/ the added description, yeah - never seen such a story in a game, either.
I do remember at least one of the games used Crowley as an antagonist that would summon demons or something like that, which was in the 'Nightmare Creatures'.
All in all this mix of story ideas could work. -
@D-4got10-01 I won't use names of actual people. I don't want to know what kind of shit they actually did. I learned my lesson when I found games on Itch.io that featured Little St. James island pedo themes. Bunch of devil shit with it.
-
@Demolishun Never implied that you would.
In games they often come up w/ some random mishmash of a name, then they just slap the message 'All characters are fictitious. Any similarities to real people are unintentional...' blah, blah, blah, to cover their asses.
Also regarding the Itch.io stuff: the fuck? -
@D-4got10-01 yeah, there is a whole segment of satanist shit on there. I was like how the fuck did I find this?
-
@Demolishun Damn. Apparently it's a good thing I haven't been browsing the site too deeply.

made me think of oblivion right away
then it made me think of The Secret World (which unfortunately had absolute garbage combat)
I want a game world that has magic, tech, and rpg elements. Single player. Maybe some modern world too.
I have ideas where it starts medieval and introduces magic and tech due to parallel worlds/civilizations. I would link magic and tech at a base level so they interact. It would also be a lot of bullshit fiction to make this happen.
I thought about starting in modern world that makes contact to parallel worlds and this starts chain reactions of conflict inter-dimensionally. That would allow for anything to go at that point.
Anyway, just posting my thoughts. In the end I will rely heavily on player suspension of disbelief. They will either accept my bullshit or play something else.
Welcome to my fucked up world bitches!
