    I don't see the correlation between the two statements.

    Any how OpenVPN is freely available to use, protonmail provides some configuration files for free.

    I am not in India and the hotstar keeps on saying this content is not available in your country. ( Hotstar is an Indian netflix or hbo)
    I tried with opera VPN and but got the same message.

    If your worried about safety, buy a droplet hosted at bangalore for 5$ a month, route your data through it using sshutle or something like that. Delete the droplet after use, its extremely cheap and safer way.
