Actually that’s not normal, unless you have wake on lan enabled and someone’s sent a magic packet then I got no ideas -
@C0D4 that's the laptop she got for work, i don't see any reason this should be enabled. If even if it is enabled someone had to get into the wifi and decided to send a wakeonlan-packet for this. I can't explain this.

Some power on when power is connected, others can be set to power on on a schedule, and as mentioned WOL is possible, although less plausible.
I believe there may also be an option to wake from sleep/hibernate to do updates because windows. -

I used to have an issue where computer starts by itself and it was due to that BIOS option. I guess it doesn't work properly nowdays and is not even implemented on modern motherboards. -
Skayo88597yAfter an automatic update, windows just boots up and doesn't fucking turn off again. Happened to me twice. Poor laptop was turned on the whole night...
