@Lensflare in the USA we have tickets to ride things to try and keep homeless off the subway/busses. Not sure how effective it is though.

in Canada we just had a homeless guy sleeping in a station or begging outside. not like. half the train passengers are clearly homeless and they'll prowl the trains asking anyone not poor looking for money
