Preview rendering seemed to work better than formal rendering edplain that
I ended up screenshotting the preview -
I have never heard of FBX being the "main" format of Blender. The main format is "blend". Anything else is an export. They have had "obj" support way longer than "fbx".
Never had good results with blend and fbx ever with game engines.
edit: btw Godot uses glTF because other formats suck. -
@Demolishun God dammit, I meant unity. Unity can really only load fbx, obj, and dae
Blender can't export dae, obj is retarded so that really only leaves fbx -
@12bitfloat I have respect for someone with the time and patience to even begin using unity
-
Could've been worse... It could've been the *.psd format.
As made famous by this comment:
'At this point, I'd like to take a moment to speak to you about the Adobe PSD format. (...)'

@12bitfloat You can get unity to export the FBX from the blend file for you if I remember correctly
-
@BordedDev cool. I think godot can do that with blend. It just converts the blend to glTF silently.
-
@BordedDev I saw that (which is really cool!), but for some reason the coordinate systems were all screwed up no matter what I did
-
@12bitfloat Doesn't surprise me to be honest but unfortunate, I wonder if unity didn't bother update their code since they tried being an ad company

How is FBX the main format of blender when it is so damn bad
For the last 10 minutes I have tried exporting a model as fbx so that it has the same scale and coordinate system as in blender. That's literally the only job a model file format has to do
I still haven't managed to do it. How can a model format be this frustrantingly bad???
