Is there any goddamn logic in the English alphabet? Several letters make the same sound C/K (check) U/W (vow, vouch).

Or just accept they developed from scratches in clay. And whatever works.

@atheist the english alphabet would be runes, like german.

The alphabet we currently use is latin (italian)

@atheist but you're right, italian alphabet is poorly suited for english phonology. Thus the need for things like through, though, thorough, and so on

Cyrillic makes more sense if you know the alphabet it originated from, which is Greek.

The letters and sound match almost 1 to 1.
