    God help you if you accidentally type two colons though. I’m pretty sure I still have an instance of vi running somewhere that got into that mode 3 years ago…

    @MatthewSamms wait maybe it’s not two colons. I’m not actually sure what triggers it. It’s some command history mode. I never know how I trigger it or how to get out of it when I do.

    @andros705 That’s what it is! Thanks for the solution! Now I won’t have to fear that weird mode anymore.

    I suppose I could have looked it up but I usually figured out how to get out of it eventually so I never bothered. Obv joking about the 3 years.
