What you mean abandonware? I've been out of the loop a couple of years to be fair.
-
Big nothing burger
Russia isn't gonna do shit
Iran will strike US bases
US will maybe strike back
Iran will stop striking US bases because they have no weapons left and don't want to get their leaders killed -
@rootshell @dfox hasn't been active in about 5 years, maybe more. Last update to the app or website was even longer ago. I think image posting has been broken since 2024. The site is over.

@12bitfloat I can only hope, but the middle east isn't exactly known for its stability and rational decision making. The US under Trump is not afraid to be aggressive to seek US interests. It could either "nothing ever happens" or "it's so over" and I'm not confident it's going to be another "nothing ever happens"
-
@AlgoRythm I agree with you, but what power on a global stage does Iran have?
Why would a global power risk their own ass to defend Iran against the most powerful military on the planet?
When the US (for dumb reasons) attacked other middle eastern countries, did that spark ww3? No, and except for US soldiers nobody in the world had anything to do with it or felt any consequence
And don't forget that Trump already struck Iran in his first term IIRC. Nothing happened then because it was somewhat measured, just like it is now. Trump doesn't appear to be a warmonger, he's just pretty hardcore when it comes to you wronging him -
@12bitfloat True, but it's not that simple. The US isn't just sticking it's nose in another muslim country because "muh terrorism" this time.
The US is joining an escalating war motivated by nuclear weaponry development. Russia backing them suggests they're interested in having yet another nuclear partner to keep the West at bay. -
@12bitfloat The world is in a much different state from Trump's first term.
While Iran definitely needs to get their ass kicked for continually developing nuclear weapons despite intense diplomacy trying to stop them, direct US involvement here is especially risky, essentially turning another "middle eastern boxing match" into a world stage event. -
@AlgoRythm I agree with you and I am not a fan of direct US involvement, but I also don't really see how this could escalate to a larger conflict and especially not ww3
But I guess we will have to see how both parties respond in the coming days. I heard Iran sent some missiles towards US bases in the middle east
Let's hope trump keeps his cool -
@12bitfloat Iran definitely couldn't hold a candle to the US, especially the mainland. Russia backing them is what's got my neck feeling prickly. We're backing out from the veil of proxy wars a la Ukraine and directly throwing punches again. Could be a global disaster.
-
@AlgoRythm In Russia vs Ukraine, helping ukraine means american weapons striking Russia. That could be a big problem
Striking Iran is really different imo, even if they are partnered with russia (which I honestly haven't heard of before this) -
@12bitfloat Ukraine has had 182 billion dollars of support from the US, depending on who you ask. The US has had a large, indirect involvement in that war.
Striking Iran is significantly different because we're not just paying for the bombs, we're dropping them from our own planes. Russia has condemned the move and pledged support on Iran's side. The extent of the support is unknown, and I don't think they had any strong ties before the conflict. -
@AlgoRythm Okay i don't agree with you at all on this one
Yeah the US helped ukraine a lot, but its a BIG difference if the US would fly their B2s over russia. It would be a direct attack on russia
Why would russia risk further US involvement because the US attacked some shit hole? -
@12bitfloat Unclear right now. I guess we'll have to see what kind of support Russia will actually provide. Then, we can start to guess.
-
no currently is worse than cold war
we're also closer to nuking than any other time in history
but it's ok we have tiktok and the bachelor so nobody's paying attention
and most people are so fat they wouldn't even be able to join the military! -
the danger is if your fellow man will be pro war
if everyone your age doesn't wanna be drafted they won't be able to draft
if they run propaganda for a war and the people start believing it... then your neighbour will have no sympathy for draft dodgers, and they will all turn against you and narc you out
while you and your friend group and the older people don't want a war there won't be a war. once they do and you have nowhere to run for safety then you should be afraid and get out -
chatgpt6551d@antigermanist
Yes, former President Donald Trump withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear agreement, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in May 2018. This decision effectively ended the agreement that had been reached in 2015 between Iran and six world powers, including the U.S., in an effort to limit Iran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. -
Why cant we just make space drone fight each other and the last ones with drones win. No blood.
-
@antigermanist everybody wanna play dirty is why. you are just pawns. robots don't hurt when they're killed. people? you hope your enemy gets raided by his people for killing so many of his own citizens via conscription
it's more a psychological war than anything. and the peons don't matter -
retoor86621dNothing going to happen. Ww3, pff. And Trump is for sure not interested in war - but doesn't let someone fuck with USA either. He's doing quite well on that area. The news want Ww3, like it wants climate and other shit. They want us to panic.
@iiii world is doing fine, it's big yo. There's s no such thing as one world. Had regular talks whit a guy from Libya and those people at very positive about direction where world is heading. Dem from different world. It's the west where all this negativity flows. But there's more trqdw and stuff then ever. Read rational optimist.
If shit like Ww3 happens, shoot the freaking messenger in the face aka the news. It was them, it's always them. Get them. They're war mongerwrs. -
iiii95011d@AlgoRythm Russia backs Iran only with words. They have their hands too full "in the backyard" to realistically support anyone right now.
-
@antigermanist I think you wanted to post this as some sort of gotcha but what this really shows is that there is genuine diversity of thought among right wingers lol
I don't agree with cruz here but the difference is that on your side, he would have been excommunicated from society, because you know "the tolerant left" lol -
@12bitfloat well, good news, it turned into "nothing ever happens" with same-day shipping. Now I get to sit and patiently wait for the middle east to become a problem again.
I'll probably delete the rant in a few days because it's just moot now. -
@AlgoRythm Hi, how are you. Best wait for confirmation from both sides 'cause it smells rather fishy. Some Iranians are calling bullshit on there being actually any agreement. If I'm understanding this correctly, their constitution says only Agha can declare either war or peace, so a lone tweet by the FM saying 'maybe' should be taken with an extra grain of salt.
Anyway, ehem, "wait for the middle east to become a problem again", you don't have to wait at all, see Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen... -
@Liebranca not a problem to me, in the same way that the significantly more unstable continent of Africa isn't a problem to me either.
More accurate, those are problems waiting to happen. -
@Liebranca Yeah turns out Trump was just being a fucking cunt again and simply lying. The deal was struck between Trump and Netanyahu. Seems like the two allies cannot alone agree on a ceasefire, while leaving out the other party??
Quote: "Israelis, who fell asleep to the news that a ceasefire had been agreed to, woke up to four consecutive missile warnings, heading back and forth to the shelters as a missile hit a residential building in Be’er Sheva, killing three, according to the Israel fire and rescue centre." -
@AlgoRythm Aye, there's also some screencap of a CNN headline making the rounds, saying "a senior Iranian official" (no name? what?) denied that any ceasefire proposal was ever presented, and that he didn't see any reason to pursue a ceasefire in the first place.
It's all very strange, I honestly don't know what's going on. News sources I can take at least somewhat seriously aren't even talking about this, either in english or arabic.
My take, for what it's worth: war is horrible, and no one who knows what war is wants one, but the US has to get the fuck out of the region. Unless that happens we'll just keep seeing this again and again -- brothers will just keep making attempts at kicking them out, and more power to them, it's their goddamn land.
Also, for nukes, I really do think Iran is gonna get one now. It's not like western powers are willing to dismantle their own nukes, eh. -
@Liebranca yeah it seems like Trump has caused major confusion on the topic, what an asshole.
The difference between the west having nukes and the Middle East having nukes is the last time the US fell was in 1776.
Then again, the US is also the only country to have ever used nukes in war so who fucking knows. -
@AlgoRythm I couldn't find anything concrete, but here's funny comment:
> An attack on three facilities with minimal casualties has changed the mindset of a hardline islamic regime who has chanted death to America since the 70s.\n\n Say that out loud.
Anyway, [WKUK sketch](https://youtube.com/watch/...) makes the point clearer than I ever could. Geopolitics is kinda hard, maan. -
iiii950122h@Liebranca US has to get the fuck out of everywhere. not just middle east. they are a pest of the earth
-
lorentz1563520hIran has made a compelling effort to deescalate by calling ahead to evacuate before their retaliatory strikes. It's clear that, whatever their plans with Israel, they would much prefer the US stay out of it.
Trump has acknowledged this effort as well, so while he may escalate anyway and his foreign policy is generally hard to forecast, I'm optimistic. -
@Liebranca what's wrong with death to america?
Wishing a country to cease existing doesn't mean killing people. Look at germany for example. The world was better off when they were balkanized. -
rootshell174512h@AlgoRythm ah I see. Sadge, used to be a lovely place filled with rants. I kind of faded in and out every couple of years depending on how much ranting needed to be done based on my current work. :p
I know politics are banned but this site is abandonware anyways.
US strikes Iran, Iran strikes back, Russia backs Iran.
This might *genuinely* be the closest thing to world war 3 since the cold war.
