I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

@Rick-C137 There are many different Linux kernels as well... not everyone runs mainline Linux. Also, RMS can go suck a gnu cock, instead of crying salty tears all the time for losing the marketing war he should get off his ass and create something new.

I went from Slackware in the 90s, to Redhat to SUSE to Debian to Fedora to Gentoo to Ubuntu to Xubuntu to Arch to CrunchBang to Manjaro back to Ubuntu back to Arch... and probably about 30 other distros in between.

Currently I'm using Mint on a company provided Macbook, Mint on an AMD Ryzen 7 workstation, and Debian on a home server.

The Arch/Manjaro family is fun, but for squeezing out more productive hours I prefer Debian based distros, and Mint beats all operating systems when it comes to "It just works".

I've tried a lot, a lot, of distros. Currently running Solus on my workstation and one server with Debian, one server with Ubuntu and a laptop running Arch. It all started with RedHat in 1997.
