Trying out Gnome 3 again just to see how things have evolved. How can something crash and freeze so often combined with strange slowness. I like GTK+ and other DE's using that, and a long time ago Gnome was a nice thing. Now it might look good in some aspect but in other aspects it is just strange how they have decided to do things and how often they change things between each release. And then, stop freezing and being so damn slow.

I use Arch because I like the color scheme on the website.

Have a positive mindset. If the work in general sucks, you can almost always find some micro or nano task that you can focus on. Then you find something more fun to work with and switch job. But until then, stay positive and be happy. And use devrant to blow off steam.

Apart from the technical reasons and such. I use Linux because it feels good. And it makes me happy. You should never forget about the soft values.

Everytime I see something based on Electron it reminds me about things based on Eclipse. And neither one of thoose two should see it as a compliment to be compared to the other.

Even though I like Javascript I get so frustrated over all the libs and frameworks that is so good. And then some forks. And then all deps because everyone wants to have a cool npm package. So, took a deep breath, went for a run in the forest and started looking at Go for the small service(s) that from the start was thought to be a NodeJS thing. Might be fun.

Even though I like a rolling Linux install that's been working for a long time, it's always fun to set up a fresh installation. Remember back when I had more time and setting up "Linux from scratch". Then there was Gentoo. Now Arch serves that purpose. Even though there is not that much time as when I was a student it's still brings pleasure starting from a clean slate. Only setting up the things you need and keeping config files clean and a nice directory structure. Keep it simple.

Clicking "forgot my password" and getting a mail with my password in clear text. Sending a mail and asking why they don't care about security. The answer I'm getting is "it's a feature, makes things easier". Yeah...

When you are dreaming about you being stuck in a never ending loop of string escape... Nightmares...

Sitting in a mountain cabin with a maverlous view over the surrounding area. A mountain lake is near the cabin and the mountains are raising around it. A blend of a lot of colors. Coding on some interesting project with some nice people. Just enjoying life. Being able to take a hike or run in the nature to be inspired to do some more coding.

When people are coding and adding hard blank spaces instead of normal spaces. Usually because of copy paste from Internet. Oh, the joy.

All this small node modules in the npm repository that is a fork of another with a name that sounds almost like the other. It's a jungle. Then things are abandoned or changing name. How much i like coding nodejs based projects I really feel bad of the total mess with that repo. Freedom and a lot of projects are good. But the mess is like the flat of a young student that hasn't been cleaned in a year.

Really hate it when a project is switching focus every month or so. You start focusing and committing a lot of time to make things work. Taking initiative to enhance things. Then some weeks later management is switching focus and you have to port all fixes in the new code base. Then some weeks later you have to work on the things you did before but with some adjustments that result in the old code not being possible to use and you have to port fixes again. When complaining you sometimes get the question "how hard can it be, it's just some code". Some motivation is lost every time. And repeat this like a "while true" loop.
