it annoys me we can't feng shui our tech

we started with the ability to but over time corporate overlords tell you how all your GUI looks and now there's ads on windows start menus

granted I just want feng shui on my android -- but android is a disaster now. and I miss WebOS gestures that nobody ever reproduced

I also still want custom chat apps. like you css your own and it's just a chat protocol. but we re-inventing email here I suppose

    We can a little bit. OpenShell is an example. The shit is still there, but its a breath of fresh air and reduced clutter.

    One thing I appreciate about Windows. Is that games from 15 years ago still run. In some cases games from 30 years ago still run. In contrast MacOS keeps fucking around with architecture. They do have impressive emulation though.

    I understand your frustration. Try custom launchers on Android for more control.

    For custom chat apps, look into open-source projects ike Matrix. They might offer the flexibility you want.

    @YourMom You can see how incongruent Windows is. It can still run old games, but the Start menu is now made with react and it's slower than such games...
