YourMom4574dThe biggest lie in hypnotist circles: "You can't be hypnotized without your consent."
This is victim blaming at its peak.
edit: Pay attention to this pattern in media, especially the news:
1. Ask a question.
2. Make an emotional statement. (ie, children died)
3. Answer the question with what you want people to think.
In hypnotism, the hypnotist will cause a shock to the person who is undergoing hypnosis. It can be as simple as snapping your fingers. This causes the subconscious to accept whatever comes next. this bypasses the gateway.
Media uses the emotional statement to get people to accept whatever comes next. Regardless of how false the statement is. They also use repetition. Both of these are manipulative tactics to brainwash people. -

YourMom4573d@PaperTrail what do you mean? There are whole websites dedicated to plying the trade. I have an interest in self hypnosis so I learned a bunch about it.
-
YourMom4573dAlso, "conspiracy theories" are some kind of trigger for people. They are conditioned to respond to opposing info and attack with calling it a "conspiracy theory". It is really wild to watch someone do this. Completely devoid of original thinking. I have relatives like this. They get really upset when you question the MSM narratives. Especially older people. Another thing people do is false association. Which I think is intentional by the people who push the narratives. If you question a narrative you obviously believe in these other unrelated things. I have seen people here do this and its humorous, fascinating, and bizarre. Completely devoid of thought.
I assume its the education being prescriptive rather than learning to think for one self. -
@PaperTrail I ran into one... unfortunately. here I was thinking it was bullshit. I did not even have an interest to engage in it. there was another topic in the server I was interested in and not at all hypnotism. joke's on me.
guy's "snap" was literally trauma bonding. I did EDMR on myself for 8 hours afterwards just to make my brain shut up otherwise I was just constant flashbulb memories. not cool. not cool in the fucking least -
@YourMom you're mentioning such typical things... I never thought it was hypnotism. but it is such fully irrational and robot-like behaviour. that's wild they managed to get hypnotized...
what did me in is they had me meditate / go into a trance state first -- convinced me under other pretenses for it. and then they get access to your subconscious yet you don't have full access over your "ego" which protects you if you're not in a meditative state...
non-sequesters perhaps my brain is too quick at catching them? and it's really fucking difficult to find anything I'm emotionally reactive to. sucks for emotional people then? -
YourMom4573d@jestdotty people enter in and out of trance states all the time. It just depends upon if it is useful to do this. People do this on the highway. They will drive 10 minutes and not realize they drove that distance or time. I knew a guy who would go into this state for hours at a time when driving. Then people are less aware of the time passing and they go bored out of their mind.
Watch videos of people gambling, pressing the same button over and over, and tell me that isn't some kind of pleasure trance they are in. That is why gambling is so fascinating to me. Absolutely the most boring shit you could imagine and people do it for "fun". -
Alice1943d@PaperTrail Of course there are.
It's an entire giant scam theme with little cults, social media gurus, "join the WhatsApp group" scammers, paid seminars, then the same thing all over again for quick hypnosis (which is the bigger money maker for way over a decade now, as it's quick money with more people interested in it). Can't forget the erotic pseudo hypnosis videos people pay a lot for. They have their place in this as well.
And then there are the way smaller groups of people who don't actually want to scam people or are victims of those scams. People actually interested in hypnosis and its uses in therapeutic environments or on oneself. But that's the smaller part of the industry. -
@YourMom I just played valheim yesterday after months of not playing games and strangely felt stressed after and was shaking and out of it
wonder if that brought up the hypnotist stress (trauma training) or what?
to me it doesn't feel like a trance state tho... I'm hyper focused but because I'm not aware I don't think my environment effects me. I hear everybody says that though. but there's a difference between meditative trance and me just forgetting / hyper focusing due to trauma yet allowing programming consciously -- then it actually sticks. whereas years of my mother bitching as I played games I don't think messed with my subconscious because I had chosen to block her out
so beware of people hypnotizing you. seems there's hypno viruses. no joke
sigh
psychology, not even once
