I feel like the number of females is increasing.. give it a few more years and hopefully we will have a 50/50 ratio.. or at least 40/60..
-
Bleh6626yI am a woman developer. I do know women out there are equally capable and I have known and I admire a lot of them for their knowledge and work in the field.
I said that because already there are lot of programs and stuff going on to hire more women in tech. So I thought it was maybe sarcasm. -

Too many at our company, toilet line is toooo much.. or maybe we need more toilets.. xD

Bleh6626y@just8littleBit Not new to devrant. I read for fun, I have stopped ranting(Old account deleted). And I rarely comment.

There is no guarantee that a female dev would go out with me.

Historically programming was considered a womans job. Why won't all the gender studies students switch programs and solve this issue instead of bitching about it.
-
Personally, I don't care whether a dev is a man, a woman, an attack helicopter, or whatever else, as long as they don't praise themselves for specifically being a gender and a dev at the same time.
-
I have educated and taught a couple of men and women how to code and basic concepts, my conclusion is that women are better programmers.
Change my mind. -
clarification: I didn't mean it proves men are better. I meant it proves there is actually little difference, but men tend to simply want/choose to go into programming more than women.
-
there's as many female devs as many females want to be devs times (float 0 to 1) average resolve to learn and persevere in the field.
which is precisely as many as there should be, imo.
goes for any profession. -
@just8littleBit stop with this 50/50 bullshit already.
it makes no sense on several levels. you are trying to force a complex, maybe even chaotic structure, into an arbitrary form just because it pleases your sense of mathematical aesthetics.
it has been proven many times that this leads to results which are very displeasing, counterproductive, and dangerous for *everyone*. -
@Nanos they also always go in numbers of n*2 where n is the number that actually needs to do a thing, and the rest is cohort, so properly designed women's bathrooms need the inner hallway be at least twice the area/capacity of all the stalls combined, and preferrably furnished as a common room/living room/the kind of area where you can sit down and chat with your friends.
-
@Nanos also we need to double or triple the standard person-to-area ratio in all our calculations to avoid commiting the sin of fatshaming.

@Midnigh-shcode
What I mean with 50/50 is the point you mentioned where I disagree.
I know lots of females that are very interested in programming but they think they will not be able to prove themselves cause it’s a job ruled by males.. -
@just8littleBit yes, i am sorry that feminism brainwashed women into believing men despise their company.
i am sorry that society teaches girls these prejudices against men.
but if their prejudices are stronger than their interest and resolve to succeed, you know how that's called?
lack of motivation.
which, when men suffer from it, we tend to accept as a fair and valid reason for failure, usually.
which I would also agree is the case, and should be the case for everyone, not just men.
but yes, it would be great to remove the source of these lies and prejudices. -
Its great to see women in coding world, and we should have more women in this sector #sheCodes

@electrineer @mjones44
unfortunately, reality doesn't care about how diaconnected from reality it sounds to you.
There’s not enough female devs
