Bought an S9. One thousand times better than an iPhone. Thank fuck. Finally rid of apple after 6 years. Took long enough.17

I hate fucking SteamVR stuff so much. I don't know why, but Valve has not set up the plugins in a way that makes any sense. I have so many workarounds in the project I'm working on it makes me sick.

I maintain a service that people are billed yearly for. A bunch of users just requested a new feature that will require me to build a completely new backend and change a bunch of things that will require a full rewrite of a couple different aspects of the service. I'm both excited and scared. Wish me luck.5

Biggest? I want to create a full epic single player RPG that connects the players to the characters and leaves them with that empty feeling after they’ve finished it because the game was that damn good.3

I didn't actually realize anyone could be this dumb. Sure, I'd heard stories, but I wasn't sure that I'd ever come across this level of stupidity in the wild. I was moving email across hosting accounts for someone, and I asked them to please navigate to a certain domain. Then they asked what navigate meant, so I told them to please type it into the URL bar. They said "OK." 5 seconds later, they said, "Which one do I click on?" They googled the url. So I asked them to please type it into the URL BAR. Then they asked what that was.
...like what? I just told you this yesterday. How fast does information fall out of your head? Do you forget where your toilet is when you wake up every morning? How do these people even function in society?

Built an application real fast that rename files you drag into a specified folder and spits them out into a folder on your desktop. I had a bunch of file permissions issues because it was in a “while(true)” loop and it constantly watched the folder. Instead of checking whether Windows was done moving the file or whatever so I could take control of it, I just threw a try/catch block in there.
It worked perfectly.2 -
When it rains it pours. Just got a couple jobs from people wanting to pay me. Now swamped with work in one day.2

Longest goddamn development time ever on this one app I’m working on. Totally got demotivated for many months. Only now just starting to finish it.

My girlfriend knows what a coder needs when it’s their birthday. Lucky to have her. Walked into my room and it was set up like this.51

I'm curious, what kinds of projects is devRant working on right now? What's your most recent project, personal or interesting, that you've picked up recently?
Mine is a program that automates schoolwork for you.34 -
Any marketing advice? It’s difficult building an Instagram audience.
Any other ways to reach your targets? Are google ads any good?5 -
Is it just me, or does devRant now display the exact same rants as before whenever you open it? I've seen the same 5 rants 20 times today.5

Never have I been so satisfied as I am right now after having implemented a login and user account system with the ability to update user preferences with databases n' shit in PHP after only knowing PHP for a day.
Speaking of all that, do you guys know of any good place to make sure all my stuff is secure? No SQL injections n' the like.4 -
This is a rant about having nothing to rant about because I'm so busy working on projects. The grind is just... grind-y.3

A mosquito got into my room the other night and feasted on my foot for 9 hours. I could hardly walk the next day, and the itching was insane. I couldn’t go to sleep the next night I was so absorbed by my fixation on finding him. Eventually I barricaded myself with blankets. The one time blankets will actually protect you.3

Thinking of making a “devRant Clans” website listing the leaders and members of each clan on devRant. Thoughts/features you would like to see?14

Every designer I’ve worked with is too goddamn slow. I always have to drag the work out of them like pulling teeth with your bare hands. It’s just an awful process.2

I feel ridiculous. While learning SQL databases I ran a query that was supposed to fill up the database with test data for me to play with. The actual result?
8 GB and 330,000+ rows.
Keep in mind this database is on a remote server, so trying to delete it times out after thirty minutes. I’m submitting a ticket right now.4 -
Got a marketing email talking about the "No Code" revolution. They're talking to the wrong girl here.12

Got my program hooked up to an external sql database that’s ready to be fed into by PHP, hosted on an SSL website, fixed up all the other bugs with TONS of other stuff.
4:23 A.M. and feelin’ good.1 -
My original project has morphed and twisted to become this monster where I’ll need to learn PHP, databases, and somehow get a desktop C# app to read the remote database and execute tasks based upon times in the database. God help me.4
