Saw a McDonald's today that's asking to be hacked - their menu sign's IP address is right there on the bottom of it (original image at https://i.imgur.com/P3sFGHE.jpg):

@gashadokuro I see I'm not the only one travelling on a Sunday morning

The one under player info and neighboring display data? I could barely read that

@asgs too late to edit OP but it says:
    THIS DISPLAY INFO
    HOSTNAME 10316 PRIMARY
    IP (SNET) 172.16.221.174
    IP (LOCAL) 16.231.31.198

    NEIGHBORING DISPLAY INFO
    HOSTNAME 16315 SECONDARY
    IP (SNET) 172.16.221.173
    IP (LOCAL) 16.231.31.169

might be wrong because even the original image wasn't great but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"their sign's IP address" - Is this real life?
  • 3
@Scade probably isn't a public IP but yeah, it's a big display run by a computer. Easier to change the menu that way.

I've seen a menu in a restaurant leave the join code for TeamViewer up before. It was fun. Totally white (ok gray) hat though. Left a note on the desktop saying they probably shouldn't do that, made the menu take half the screen instead of whole, and looped the He Man rendition of "what's going on" on the other half of the screen. Took them 6 hours to notice. (menu was inside, above the cashiers, not outside like op's).

Oh, and it was this video: https://youtu.be/eh7lp9umG2I

Woah a local ip on a network you won’t have access to. So hackable 😨😨

@Jacobgc I had to take this while ordering and didn't have time to think about the adresses.

Are the 16.x ones also local?

@svgPhoenix from the picture it looks like 10.x which is local yeah
