I'm on an interview process with another company.

I'm pretty happy where I am, everything is good, but I actually need more money and I won't get a raise where I am right now. Salary revisions are frozen for the time being.

And they've never been great increases, just small percentages.

If it weren't for the money I would stay here.

least they're upfront about it instead of everyone else at the company making double the money you are and then review time comes and they praise you but give you under inflation "raise"

idk how you're supposed to feel excited working anywhere since that's the nature of such a relationship that they get to lie to you with every management-related interaction but you have to be loyal and giving eternally or your head is on the chopping block, or at the very least threat train

@jestdotty Yeah it's weird. Personally I value many more things above money: time, work-life balance, , but of course money has to be sufficient. And right now I need a bit more as the sole breadwinner of my house, so...

But in other scenario, I wouldn't think on going away. I haven't in several years now, but the time has come I guess.

So I'm back on chats with recruiters and coding tests. Exhausting

@jestdotty Also, my manager is a rockstar, excellent person, really close and very upfront and clear. He's helped me a lot in the past to get better raises and better positioning and he's very honest about what's going on and what's next too.

That's (sadly) is a "perk" not easily found in every place.
