@whimsical I suck at a lot of things but I don’t know how to make money with that.
Maybe I should look at politicians and see how they do it.
Can’t hurt to look at js devs either. -
@Lensflare you can`t just suck randomly on things. You have to suck on the right thing, especially with your looks. I am sure you can make a lot.
-
@whimsical no no you misunderstand. I suck AT things, not ON things 😅
Not much experience in sucking on things. I leave it to the pros. -
the grift cultures are merging
the thing that's annoying to me is I actually love all those things just not like that lmao -
@Lensflare sucking at things brings in the most money
you sell dreams and never deliver and people think if they throw more money at you surely you'll deliver but you won't
so you sell your self esteem for material goods
politicians work the same way. you'd make a great politician. it's all about knowing what to promise while doing something else with the other hand. cultural social awareness and control abilities -
@jestdotty no, I‘d be a terrible politician.
I don‘t act like I know what I‘m talking about when I don’t.
I'm bad at lying.
I have a conscience.
But I see potential in you. -
@Lensflare I'm too self aware to lie. that's kind of the problem. I'm not defensive enough or cynical enough to start lying yet. maybe I'll get there though (*)
you are an atheist of camp science. you look like an authority on knowing what you're talking about if you tell people you don't know what you're talking about
I don't view what I suspect you're calling conscience to be a conscience. I do have a curiousity about what that may be though if that helps you to know
* fun fact, when I was 9 I started pathologically lying. everyone believed everything I ever said. then I realized why I was lying and thought I'd improve my quality of life by taking self responsibility. since then turns out nobody believes me anymore. I find this to be extremely funny in the most cynical and nihilistic way possible. imagine the scenario. how does one make sense of this? could you help, I wonder? what does the conscience say is the sense? is that the missing piece to this making sense? 😮 [hopes] -
@jestdotty more words put into an arrangement that look like it should have some meaning, but it doesn’t.
-
jestdotty611319h@Lensflare rip so much for conscience I guess. I even read the wikipedia on it and the concept is actually made by religious people you don't like... see what I mean by hypocrisy of a politician?!
guess it was simply used as an insult -
afaIk018h@jestdotty FH! excuse me but I wrote a paper not long time ago about this, yes conscience it's all made up by religion, the paper was about AI because they say AI will never replace human intelligence because we are conscious, this is bullshit, consciousness is just cognition nothing more, so yes AI will replace but that just because our intelligence is put to a minimal state in society.
-
Lensflare2131418h@jestdotty does it matter who made it up? It doesn’t.
What the hell does this have anything to do with the hypocrisy of a politician?
Can you write anything that makes sense?
Is it rage bait again? Trolling? -
jestdotty611314h@Lensflare because there's no definition for conscience
it's subjective to the group, for example religion. philosophers thought you were "better" if you actually thought through your decisions. and governments think it's following laws
the average person equates it with some sort of morality, but morality has no definition either. philosophers made morality about stringent math like that kant guy, and in reality if you test people for their morality it differs extremely wildly with no rhyme or reason, as diverse as fetishes
hypocrisy cuz about 1/3 people find rudeness to violate conscience. so if you accuse someone of something then ditch them, in effect criticizing them to bring them down instead of making them better as people, that's amoral
bereftment of thought is also considered a moral failing btw... by intellectuals, by scientists. not the average person though
dismissing the person instead of the content of their argument shows a lack of conscience in debates... -
jestdotty611313h@Lensflare oo theres also a really interesting one
in ASPD/antisocial places being triggered is a moral/conscience failure
the average person ofc doesnt see that. The most striking thing I've seen is people who love to watch murderer/psychopath/sociopath police tapes on youtube. they keep saying the murderer has no conscience... but the murderer does... he killed his sister because she betrayed the family, by making friends outside the family or something I dont actually remember the specific case
I mention the triggered, because me with my silly conscience did not realize you view politicians as an insult in its very category. so I gave you encouragement and a roadmap for becoming a politician (since I follow build people up, not bring them down -- hmm I wonder why I find you so annoying). you took it as an insult. empathetic people (which is also a conscience judgement, though few actually are empathetic) and ASPD people both have the conscience of "don't get triggered" -
jestdotty611312h@Lensflare wait til you hear about the word conscientious, you know conscience as a personality characteristic
> Conscientiousness manifests in characteristic behaviors such as being neat, systematic, careful, thorough, and deliberate (tending to think carefully before acting)
🥺
literally the thing you complain about of me... hypocrisy
> to take obligations to others seriously
yet you say I lack this and then ditch, not acting conscientiously at all -
@jestdotty your are conflating a lot of things here.
Concience is related to morality but it’s not the same.
But most importantly, just because it’s subjective doesn’t mean it has no definition.
It has a definition in terms of what it means when we speak about it.
What it doesn’t have is a universally agreed upon definition of which actions are considered moral (or compatible with concience) because is‘s subjective and therefore different for each person.
