😡😡😡 Who here thinks that great software can be build in a few hours?!?! My silly ass boss does. He haven't programmed in decades and think we're supposed to be able to build software that doesn't break, has the best security, no flaws, feature rich in VERY, VERY short amount of time!! 😡😡😡 Fuck out of here!! It pisses me off to my core.

Me: Just finished the required software. In a short amount of time with new stuff I've never worked with before.

Him: Well, it took u a week to do. I heard it should've only have taken u a few hours.

Then u build the shit then!!! Fuck out of here.

The Sr. Dev and I was talking about this on Friday. U won't good product...leave us the fuck alone and let us work!!! He don't think that there will be small issues that come up. He thinks we're supposed to already know those issues are gonna exists, like really u fuck tart!?

FUUUUUUCK!!!!

Laugh in his face, then walk out and go apply for a new job. I get this a lot with Indian developers, I once told one to build me an image denoising mobile app in a week. That shut him the fuck up.

Gamini, if you’re reading this, eat a dick.

He sounds unrealistic. And I think 90 percent of modern software development processes are pure bike shedding.

Once again Malcolm, as long as you're on my payroll, you'll do as I say!

    P.S. We'll have a private conversation

Your boss sounds like an idiot. I’d be surprised if he actually ever programmed at all.

Go work somewhere else. If their expectations are that unrealistic then you're going to be confined to a life of pressure and get into the habit of shipping crappy code as soon as possible.

Funny stuff, because of this I developed "helper" libraries and parts of different systems for the last 2 years.

Jokes on you, I CAN develop solution within 2 hours. But oh boy people are getting mad when I tell them that tasks within 2 hours require additional payment for all of my beloved parts. Because those parts are my stuff and I'm not using them for free.

See this as "Well yeah but we need this service, it requires one time payment of $$$ so...."

Anyway, they choose longer - cheaper solution.

    Good for me.
