Which platform do you recommend for inter-team comm?
We were on skype, but it didn't allow threads.
We have now shifted to Microsoft Teams but some members aren't liking it because it does not have a native App for Linux.
Slack is paid, and we're already paying Microsoft for other features.
There are open source alternatives but we don't have a spare machine to host on...

Suggestions?

    You don't have a spare machine to host on?! Isn't that a $100 problem? And, if you don't have $100, do you really need a corporate collaboration platform?

    @jespersh You mean the MSFT collab platform? Or do you just wish your company formed teams instead of everyone doing their own fucking thing?

    Slack has a free tier. use that.

    @C0D4 Unofficial Microsoft Teams client for Linux using Electron. It uses the Web App and wraps it as a standalone application using Electron.

    The issue here is, it being a Web App.

    @BugsBuggy teams for Windows is an electron app as well, you're not going to escape that problem.

    We use Slack but we're small enough to make do with the free tier.
