Perhaps it was solving the problem in a different thread while you went about your week, asynchronous brains and all

Brain is at its best when it is calm and composed

Conscious is a single thread. Think like the display thread in an app. Subconscious is like millions of threads working on stuff you have no clue about. That is why you suddenly think about something. A task just finished figuring out an answer and notified the conscious thread.

You can put it to work. Give it a hard problem. Then go do something else like play video games. Periodically check thread pool for answers. Sometimes conscious is not notified as the answer is low priority or the quality is low. Sometimes the answer needs more data.

For instance, "Why is my brother such a dick?" Need more data. Later you notice he is insecure. Bingo, you get an answer back as you got the data to answer the question.

We had a “marketing” team of 2. They were both extremely smart and always had excellent ideas. But just that. Ideas. Not doers.
So we added a plug in on their trello which “age” cards the longer they stay without any action. In 2 months they were like “Oh I can’t find a card X”. Well it was fucking archived because in 2 months no one even commented on it
1 month after that, both were fired
