C0D4681384yFor video, it's the best.
For chat... it's ok, prefer slack
For teams and plugins, I can't fault it much. -
grayfox36204y@Jilano Meetings are ok. Compared to Google Meets they are _ok_. Teams is a bit RAM consuming though.
My main issues are with the chat, integrations are more cumbersome than slack's, their feature parity among clients is absolute shit (one thing in the mobile app but no in the web and not even in the radar for the linux client), and then the little things that you learn to appreciate: custom emojis, links previews and for God sake you can react with one out of ONLY SIX FUCKING EMOJIS is like wtf man?
It is clearly NOT a chat application but more like the bastard son of a Skype and a forum -
Can confirm, Teams is dogshit, more so when the teachers are unable to use it due to lack of experience.

grayfox36204y@Jilano Yup, the little things...
When most of your communication is written and in a highly distributed scenario, reacting to a comment to express your agreement, disagreement or a more fine grained feeling is a valuable thing. This makes threads much shorter in group conversation but still allowing anyone to participate.
I'm not saying it's the deal breaker but it is fairly useful. -
@grayfox
This is why you convert to Linux. You'll never have to worry about teams đ -
grayfox36204y@SortOfTested but but but I'm on Linux and I have to worry about teams and its specially shitty 'native' app đĸ
-
@grayfox why tf do you need an app for teams? Been using teams daily for 2+ years on a linux lappy - not once did I need to install that electron-based junk
also I'm using slack on a daily basis. And I've got to say, slack is more comfortable for both: chat and calls. Teams, however, has a nice integration with the whole office suite.
And yes, @jilano, I do find emojis useful for professiobal bau. A green dot/tick - for an ack, to not flood a channel. A red cross - for a no. A thank-you badge. The 'this.' badge.. And a few more. They are actually very handy and still professional

I haven't ranted since I joined my current job back in late 2018 because I've been in absolute bliss, extremely happy and feeling in the right place.
...And now here I am: due to some corporate shit we had to migrate from Slack to Teams and man TEAMS IS A SHIT.
