@enjoythecode It means you should try to surround yourself with people you can learn from, rather than being satisfied with being the smartest of the group you are in. In other words: Keep learning, keep improving.

AcidBurn408yThis is subjective. Everyone feels like they are little smarties in a room. They aren't. Most of the room sucks at coding and being smart. Especially in a room.

If you leave, another person will be the smartest in that room. And if everyone takes this advice, then no one will ever be in any room. 😱

lexxer7158yIf everyone thinks like this I can never learn from anyone because they are instantly leaving me :(

I hate being the only dev at work. After almost a decade I still have to help coworkers attaching files, finding out how to start MS Office etc. And I have no dev colleagues to learn from. Feeling stuck.

If you leave someone else will be in the wrong room, and so on, till the room is empty

Valkoo2803yNot sure. May be you are the boss in that room. Soo this is your room, your kingdom and slaves. Not bad.

snowman161yMathematically speaking, there will always be someone who's the smarterst person in the room.
If smart people are also as wise as this advice, they will leave sooner than later.
So if you find yourself alone in a room, just know you're the smartest there and you need to get out.
