xios16438yA funny thought crossed my mind one day when I was browsing devRant. What if there was a platform that would unite all(or most) the developers in the world and at times we could give the corporate a big middle finger. Like a global union type of thing without all the hurrdurr of regular unions.
Why I think this could work? Most of developers are capable of logical thought and can exercise it even under emotion.
Another idea that crossed my mind was this global blacklist of fuckwits and their business that everyone just needs to steer clear off.
Dangerous thoughts I know. And a million reasons why it wouldn't work. Still I like to entertain the idea. -
Then people wonder why developers suffer from impostor syndrome... I've learned about this here.

@xios Thought about a similar thing, too. But more in the reverse: that something like devrant will more likely support the f$#@&; status quo because you can relieve yourself from some recent mishaps without ever having to take some serious action (like in a union).

Etrunon5448y@Mjack in Italy they also ask you to have 5 years of experience but less that 25 years old :P
-
Amazing!
Just forgot the part that you should have 5 years experience in a tech that exists for 2 years. -
I think every job opening sounds fancy on paper, but in our field it's just ridiculous
-
In Georgian job searching websites it's the rule to have ridiculous amounts of requirements. Something with human requirements is the exception. And guess what? 14% of the population is employed and younger people have basically no chances unless they're exceptionally awesome, start their own business or slave off on a 9-5 job, so they are leaving in large quantities. I once bumped into a job that required an 18-year old to have 5 years of experience in programming.

awnz5697yI have found "THE JOB AD" which matches exactly, the same description said above.

I see this ALL the time in job descriptions. And lo and behold, that position still hasn't been filled 6 months later...

ryios103yYou all still look for jobs? I haven't looked for a job in 8 years, there's 56 of them in my linked in inbox begging me to change jobs. When I get burnt out or tired of where I work I just open it up and pick one that sounds fun.
