I bought this to serve Minecraft:
HP Z420 Workstation E5-1650 V2 Six Core 3.5Ghz 32GB 256GB SSD Quadro 600 Win 10

Adding 1TB 870 Evo for Linux. Gonna default boot to Linux. I am hoping to serve up a few instances of various modpacks. Minecraft is single thread so I wanted decent per core performance.

All total I spent about $450.

Why do people still say mc is single thread.. I don't see that with 1.12.2+ and especially not with Forge. (-> modpacks)

@nitwhiz That is what I found when I searched. This system has 12 threads. So if MC can use them great. I also will be running 1.7.10 as an instance. So I am not just talking about new versions of MC.

Everything I read said single core performance is more important.

So how does one update entries on a domain to point to individual ports on my router if my IP address is not fixed?

Hmm, I can order static IP for 75 plus 15 upkeep.

How much for you getting me a Slot?

Huh, ddns is a thing provided by my hosting provider:

    Save me some money!

@Demolishun They’re that expensive? Holy crap.

They were $10 a month with Cox, and I thought that was too pricey.

@Root I have a host that does my website. I can use their DDNS service with one of my domains. A bit of effort and I can get it for free.

@nitwhiz it has two major threads. Most of the game mechanics don't benefit from parallelization. There's the game threat and a secondary thread for offloading network, jobs mostly.
