There is a fine line between chic corporate speak and not cool corporate neologisms.

Then there are these gems from the client:
- major blocker: "showstopper"
- the situation is becoming high pressure: "things are getting hot and heavy"

    I hear "blocker" and "showstopper" all the time, but I've never heard anyone say, "things are getting hot and heavy" 😂

    Dunno. Showstopper did not ever tick as something weird.

    You wouldn’t use a phrase like “showstopper centerpiece”?

    Those are all well known American idioms

    That’s not corporate speak

    Corporate speak involved euphemisms most of the time meant to reduce human logic to a blunt unused tool gathering dust in the shed

    And the occasional amusing bit of action speak

    Like the over use of the words rectify and expedite

    @AvatarOfKaine do you know what “hot and heavy” means or are you a virgin?
  • 0
    @phoooooebe it can have multiple meanings but yes it means things are getting steamy brings to mind pictures of intense necking and it’s also a really hokey phrase I never use for sex

    However sometimes it’s used to mean serious and involved but yes it plays off the original phrase

    American English is very very ambiguous and since the newest retard generation took over it’s become more like some form of regarded eggshell tip toe newspeak imho

    @AvatarOfKaine necking

    Nah, I haven't. Why does that tick you so hard? There's nothing scary
  • 0
    @iiii necking
    You know where you’re all over the other person and kissing of the neck etc is involved
    It’s a pre women’s rights term from the golden pre Obama America involving usually describing the males activities to please a woman involving his lips

    You know
    Before most of the women started stealing babies and worshipping some feminine clone of hitler
    Or working on street corners

    It’s a more intense description of making out
    Like petting indicates hand and finger favors
