killames5733y@devphobe under what context would you ever have to explain why you use apt-get much less apologize ? Lol
-
ars140753yapt-get was deemed too problematic and so it was changed to the more proper apt. Discussions are still being held over whether apt should also be changed, some of the candidate include: applicable, appropriate, and correct.
fit was also considered but it was discarded after its relation to fat shaming was explored. -

Longer explanation. -
killames5733y@IntrusionCM which. Is amazing since I can’t remember when they introduced it lol and I remember them hiding network devices in dev and being confused lol

apt is a wrapper with pretty output and no output structure guarantees to make the command line more appealing for personal use. Good UNIX programs can take input from another program and have their output processed by one, but such programs are typically not as human-friendly as they could be, and their interfaces have to be very rigid.

Honestly I just use both, never really seen much of a difference when downloading packages.

@nonox If I explained this I'd be feeling like an old granddad sitting in a rocking chair.... ,ðŸ˜

@nonox back in the old days, we had fun.
We fiddled with stuff just for the fun.
Blowing whistles to hack phone networks, text based RPGs, stuff like that.
One of the things that were fun was ASCII art.
Fortune cookies and stuff are boring...
So welcome cowsay.
(Possibility 1)
Where a cow tells you stuff on console. :)
Another thing that was fun was IRC.
IRC still exists and spend tons of time in it.
After a while you recognized people more by their style of writing than their nick name...
And one of the author's of Apt seemingly enjoyed saying "moo" instead of "hi".
(Possibility 2)
And as at that time it was more important to have fun than to have a stick up your arse and whine, it was okay that this Easter egg landed (for whatever reason) in a major project.
