    (not shown in this picture: the 90% of questions that ARE just terrible.)

    @tosensei like this?

    (and we were talking answers, not questions, I missed this too but still applies somehow)

    @fraktalisman wtf? That's a nice one.

    @fraktalisman hmm almost - can you make them drooling zombies covered in poop, to accurately represent their quality level?

    That website and the whole question/answer system has become so toxic.

    A while ago I even tried to help people but there’s people that would do anything to build a reputation…

    Once I redirected a newbie’s question about “decoding a JSON” to an existing good answer for a similar question and also explained that the problem was called “parsing” and that using the right words in this field helps a lot.

    The guy upvoted and accepted mine as the best answer.

    A few months later a guy added his own answer and decided to downvote me and also commented that mine didn’t solve the problem.

    I politely invited him to screw himself and told him that if he wanted to build a reputation he could try to reply to unanswered/unsolved questions without copy/pasting code from other threads.

    I was so pissed off I stopped replying to questions.

    Stackoverflow is the one site i get most of my answers from. Toxic or not - they certainly do something very right there. Similar sites using other models failed miserably before.

    This reminds me of a guy who read my C code once when I asked why my code wasn't working back in my rookie days . . .Dude didn't know how precompiling worked, so he asked me to check "#include stdio" and when I asked him how that worked exactly, he just said "just listen" when I pressed him he doubled down and then condescendingly went "sigh..." like he knew something.

    Code-nothing know it alls. . .Fun fun fun!

    Don't forget the "This a duplicate" with a link to a different question that uses a different language.

    They should have periodic "cleanups" and purges, and re-reviews.
  • 1
    @Wisecrack Especially the purges. We cannot be the master race unless we. . .*checks notes*. . .purge the undesirables?

    Okay, who wrote this shit?

    The worst part is when someone asks for context instead of answering the question but the context based answer only solves the problem of who asked, and not the problem that you searched for

    @DarthGuappi lol, race conditions are bad though.
