I had a first stage phone interview (completely unexpected one too) and was asked that.

“Well…. Im really trying to get my first job in IT so i can get the ball rolling and kick off my career. I spent a decent amount on my degree, id genuinely like to use it now.”

He chuckled and was like “I appreciate the blunt honesty, it’s kinda rare sometimes in my job.”
