User: The production environment sure is acting strange today. It’s a weird colour and I don’t recognize any of the data, it’s all just dummy filler data. I better create a ticket for the dev team to check o—….. no wait I’ll send an email CC everyone including the CEO and sound the alarm production is currently down and filled with giant warning messages.

Manager: OH MY GOD PRODUCTION IS DOWN DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THIS??? WHAT THE FUCK COULD THESE WARNING MESSAGES BE THAT’S ONLY SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN ON STAGING! THE CEO IS BREATHING DOWN MY NECK YOU NEED TO GET THIS FIXED IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!

    @Demolishun I make 120k and all other offers are in the 60k-70k range for my skills/experience so I’m stuck dealing with this until my pay divided by my years experience produces better KPIs for recruiters/HR. I was applying to 5-10 jobs a day for two months and just completely burned out on every single moment of my spare time being spent in interviews/coding challenges. I stopped when one recruiter asked me straight up if I considered myself to be always a “loyal, resilient, bright, and shiny happy person” because that’s above all what their client was looking for since they said their last dev “slowly started to have attitude issues over time and eventually quit without training a replacement”. That entire industry can go fuck itself.

    Maybe let staging open via typing some command? If button screams "staging", of course, dumb user will click it. 😑 Give them less buttons, lol.

    Some dev in your company is shamefully hiding after accidentally deploying staging to prod for ten minutes , and fixing their own mistake. 😂
