Microsoft's new dialog messages in their software are pretty annoying. "Want to save your changes?". "Oops, something went wrong!". "Your PC ran into a problem it couldn't handle...".

I feel these messages are unprofessionally written and that they lower the bar for acceptable computer (and English) literacy in this day and age.

Its not like I think they should give a stack trace everytime something happens but just don't dumb it down any more!

Although, I think it may be appropriate for the windows target audience.

These messages are not made for an audience like us - but I think is kinda better for ppl like my parents than a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bluescreen

@thoxx but you should be able to disable dumb mode..

Or "your computer performed an illegal operation and must be shut down"

As a kid I thought I'd legitimately broken the law inadvertently and the pc would never turn on again...

@penguin like a toggle in action center: "Casual", "Professional", and "Developer" dialogs and error messages.
