When I look in the mirror, I believe god exists.

    That’s not narcissistic at all!

    @Lensflare …exists because only conscious invention can create something this deliberately ugly. I hate my body.

    Ok I didn’t see that coming

    ...and has a very cruel sense of humor

    Isn't it the other way around. We are this ugly because no intelligent designer created us. If he exists, he's a really bad designer.

    How bad?

    - Our ACL can be torn easily when you use your knees too much. Torn ACL makes you disabled for the rest of your life.

    - Our feet? They have 26 bones each. 26 bones taped together like a children's project. Any intelligent designer can definitely reduce that number.

    Not to mention that idiotic nerve that goes from the head, loops around the heart and then goes back to the top of the neck. It proves that if god exists he's actually a team working in agile and including at least 3 interns at any given moment.

    @TheCommoner282 just try at least to manage your coffee mugs properly. Take it easy. You'll get better with time.

    Here, let I, a guy on the internet, give you non-medical advice on something I am not qualified to diagnose.

    Kiki, let me ask you a question, a serious one.

    How many manufactured drinks (Pepsi, energy drinks, coke, etc) do you drink in a week? This is not a question about weight by the way. I have a very specific reason for asking.

    Someone I know, who was going through body dysmorphia, was consuming a fuck ton of canned pepsi

    Im asking because you'd be providing a valuable bit of additional data if you're willing to answer.

    @Wisecrack some energy drinks, yes, and canned coffee like this. I LOVE this kind of coffee. I cannot imagine my life without it. I want to drink at least one can of coffee a week. If someone tells me I can't drink it for the rest of my life, I would be ~~suicidal~~ very sad and disappointed.

    @kiki Thank you kiki. Only other question is how much of the canned stuff are you consuming per week?

    I can't make any medical suggestions, but I would try bottled.

    Apparently canned drinks are lined with BPA (a xenoestrogen that fucks with your hormones) to preserve taste and prevent aluminum leeching.

    @Wisecrack oh, thanks, didn't know that. I will be taking estrogens soon anyway

    @kiki Xenoestrogens *mimic* estrogen, but can have other sideeffects as well. I'm no expert.

    But if you weren't going through some shit before you started on the canned drink habit (and now are going through some shit), I'd at least look into it.

    @Wisecrack I was going through it since I was thirteen

    @kiki that sucks.

    Any other sources of alt-estrogens in your life?

    Medications? Vegan diet? Tofu? Glandular problem?
  • 1
    @Wisecrack none of the above. Man, body dysmorphia is in the head, not in the body. No wonder a bipolar trans person has it.

    @kiki The body affects the mind though, remember that.

    It reminds of the studies on autism and diets specifically tailored to lower gut inflammation. Supposedly it lead to significant improvement in some kids with autism.

    I'm still blown away by that.

    @AvatarOfKaine pot meets the kettle ahahahahah. There is always someone worse kaine

    @kiki evolution doesn't care about "ugly", and neither should you, since it's just an arbitrary construct of interpreting things, nothing that's inherent to any object.

    the ugliness is not from your body, but from your mind _wrongly_ believing ugliness to exist.

    @tosensei e.g. body dysmorphia
