@Root Well as a developer that made money from both web and in-app ads with google integration at some point I believe using ddg would be hypocritical.

Dark Mode seems surprisingly hard to get done properly.
To do it quickly takes 20 minutes.
But if designers have extreme quality requirements - it can take ages.
Especially if you don't wanna disappoint users by launching it before all components support it. And there's always some migration of old components so I guess people are saying "let's wait til we launch component template 2.0"

that's how it is at my company - we had a dark mode poc done years ago but it was just 80% complete and had hacky code. then we decided to redo all components and figure having to support dark mode during that time would slow us down, so never launched it.
