Started using visual studio code last night for PHP development. So far I’m liking it a lot. The number of plugins available is ridiculous.

If you're still open to suggestions, try Jetbrains' PHPStorm. Love it myself

I use mostly VS Code for coding, but I think for PHP it's not very good. The plugins are bit buggy and are often not a great help. 😉

Phpstorm is awesome + jetbrains just supports any language you are gonna use so its nice not been pushed to a new ide for a new language

@corjaantje ok I take it back. I’ve just looked at php storm and it might be worth £5 a month. I’m downloading a trial now.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

@corjaantje I love jetbrains stuff but it's too slow and bloated for me

Well I’ve spent the past 3 hours customising the shit out of php storm and I can say it’s definitely my new ide.

I was sad that I had to head off to terminal and start installing stuff manually via brew, in order to get SCSS compiling to work. But other than that hiccup it seems great.
